@Rob Mikels I'm not a polyphia fan, but I thought I was seeing a historic moment just because of the way these three amazing guitarists from different generations were standing together, you not liking a song doesn't change how momentous a generational clash like this is
The section Steve Vai gets introduced in feels like a love letter. It was so good, and the trumpet at the end is such an uplifting and triumphant conclusion, the younger generation being lifted up by their idols. It's bloody hard to imagine how they must feel in that moment, but their music explained it to us much better than any amount of words ever could. Totally amazing.
If you listen very closely, the trumpet starts right when Steve stands. Though the trumpet is a motive in this album. The trumpet in his solo is like the 'Royal Entrance'.
These guys are all so fucking down to earth and good to their fans. I’ve met them twice and couldn’t be more proud to be their fan. They might be blowing up, but they still take the time to show their appreciation to their fan base. Living legends.
It was interesting to see the progression of the video. Tim begins alone, Scott joins, tim is on the throne, then Scott gets his chance on the throne and then they get to the roof and big vai daddy joins the throne. I love it.
I can only imagine how cool it must have been to collaborate with Steve Vai on a tune....also, how Steve Vai probably felt the same way playing with them. Just a cool toon. Grammy worthy?
the albums gonna be a experience, not just a dump of new songs but songs that go with eachother song after song. can’t wait, next song after this one is with brasstracks as you can tell
@@clo7245 The song order came out recently when they revealed the name and release date and such, Ego Death is in fact song 12, the last one. Shouldn't be to hard to find by googling.
@@clo7245 Although another thing, the Brasstracks song is the first one in the order, so if you are listening to the album on loop it would come after Ego Death
I love to see the way they blend their art with vocals personally but definitely like to have abit of both, these type of songs with abc type songs too!
Vai comes in..puts heart in the polyphia machine for a sec...such a veteran... Polyphia breaking grounds in all areas..rap featured people for so long..
If you notice, each section of the video they keep moving up floors till they're on the roof, looks like it was shot in Detroit from the GM building in the background, my favorite track from them so far.
One of the coolest things to me is to wonder who called who. I wonder that because I read an article where a music outlet asked Vai who his favourite up-and-comer guitarists are. And his number 1 was Tim Henson. I can only imagine that if they called him then he just jumped at the chance to play with the band he thinks is the next step in guitar.
Was an amazing song video and production. Never have I seen so much top notch technical playing squeezed in one video. Visually as well as sonically amazing. Great analysis video also guys. Thank you very much.
Remember that you will diet 🤣 Love this band, there is a core of pure creativity inside that Tim Henson, so glad to see it being supported so brilliantly. Cool channel, subbed.
Notice how Scott is sitting on the throne in the second part, the same throne Steve Vai was sitting on for his introduction... From my angle, this seems to symbolize the passing of the guitar god torch to the younger generation. By all means I could be wrong, but I'm not.
You're spot on I think! However Tim also spends time in the throne in the clip. Vai is at the pinnacle(rooftop) and at the end they all stand together and focus on the trumpet playing the melody of the song. Seems like a statement they're making that they just love melody and music and that's why Steve respects them. Its about the removal of themselves and their ego and letting the melody control what they do in order to push the craft forward.
They can continue to level up by getting Petrucci and Satch on their next album. They absolutely killed it with Steve. This has to be one of my favorite tracks by them.
Is guitar porn! And I love it!!! These guy are great for the music world new generation! Insanely talented and they are pushing music in a great way! Love them
Haha nice to see the continued "Not sure I like this ABC track... *listens a few more times* .... actually now I get it, I really like it" strikes again.
Big polyphia fan here. I don’t like this song until vai comes in. It’s technical well arranged innovative… but vai puts the dreamy melody in it… I guess thats what ~4-5 decades of being a guitar god workaholic does!
Literally the only thing I don't love about this is the drum sound. It sounds so muted and synthetic, almost like a drum machine, and I think that's doing a great disservice to a really good drummer.
Pretty sure G3 (at least when on tour) always featured a different third. I had the Yngwie Malmsteen one on dvd and I’m pretty sure they did one with Gilbert among others. Sick vid! Really rate this song and special mention to how restrained Vai was. Polyphia boys killed it as normal. I did read someone comment about the trumpet leading into another song too. Really keen for the album
Is this the changing of the guards, the passing of the torch ... The Gods of Olympus ushering in the new age to the fledgling Demi Gods ... or is it just a cool collaboration and don't be so fucking dramatic ??? LOL 😉😉😉
