Scott is my nephew. I cannot express how proud I am with them all. They have worked endlessly day after day and it has truly paid off. The sky is the limit!
Yes yes do it 🙌 great vibes man. I love this one. Awesome baseline. This shit makes me wanna crash my whip into a brick fuckin wall I get so happy listening to it
I had this song on the first time I kissed my wife and it was the song that played right after our wedding ceremony ended. So yea, I love this song too.
@@vedicmetalhead1029 need to train your ear bro, this guy's bass tone is way different from the ones you have mentioned. this is a more modern bass sound.
@@erasmososa6861 I agree it is a modern bass tone...but the above comment said best EVER....plus I believe that John myung has a better bass tone if you consider modern base tones....
This song is the epitome of pure bliss. It feels like that moment when you became girlfriend/boyfriend officially. And that solo at the end is your very first kiss.
People had their minds blown by GOAT and recently Playing God, but this is the Polyphia song I keep coming back to. A little more progressive metal than the genre mashup they’ve become. Both styles fit the band and they’re going to continue to reach the stratosphere in music, but something about this album speaks to me more than everything else
Yea personally for me Renaissance is my favorite Polyphia album of all time. Still loving their newest music and they're definitely masterpieces, but Renaissance in particular just thematically is very agreeable with me and I love every single track on the album. With their newer albums there are tracks that are 10/10 masterpiece bangers and other while technically impressive and innovative I just don't personally vibe with. Like you said Ego Death 🤌 probably my favorite new songs and definitely going on the all time favorites list. That song they did with Sophis Black called "ABC." While again impressive and innovative not my cup of tea which is okay. Renaissance as a whole was consistent Imo and I could listen and enjoy every track on that album a million times.
True. I'm approaching my 1000th album I've listened to, and in the 5 years since I've heard this album, it's still number 1, and this song is my favorite song.
@@ThePoushal by overproduced what do u mean like too much post production like sound editing, use of too much effects etc, I feel like every artist tries to find their identity like they sounded like or played very similar like chon earlier with Tim playing that slapping style with hybrid picking and harmonics and we can see and hear those style of playing in almost every song of theirs means he is loving that style of playing and building melody with those techniques. those aren't easy techniques.and to develop melody over that. anybody who plays any instrument will understand that after your hands get comfortable with any particular style you just wanna keep using that. its as simple as that. for performing artist you just cannot keep changing your style. that would mean more time in learning and less recording and songwriting no matter what fans and critics say.i feel like at present he and scotty are very comfortable playing their style and maybe they feel like they can identify themselves apart from others. scotty though doesn't play that much slap or hybrid. its simple he has to accompany Tim and write songs therefore he plays, I believe scotty is more old school shredding . but for me as a listener I like melodic and flow and dreamy stuff that's why I love crush more than the others.its that song that got me hooked into polyphia and still my fav. at least right now they are the flag bearers in rock instrumental more like trap rock instrumental because of their drum sound and playing pattern. I don't know currently I like them. there's no one other. liked a bit of plain but then I got bored also Yakub zytecki love letters and a couple of songs from disperse. but I keep coming back to polyphia because their songs gives me positive and happy and good vibes.
@@comfortablynumb128 I love Nepali and their music culture and beautiful girls, but im not Nepali. im Meitei but I listen to a lot of Nepali songs though I don't understand.
By far my favorite song by them due to how chill it is and how melody driven it is. Also the fact that I could maybe play a few parts. Stuff like GOAT and Ego Death, man, I wouldn’t even bother, I can’t even connect the sound with what their hands are doing.
Pro tip... play Polyphia at 10% speed and first, it's a brand new song, but more importantly, if you've been playing guitar for a while, you can just about keep up with them!
Those solos are some of the best they have ever done. I can repeat it over and over and it never gets old. The feels. Scott, that part you wrote at the end was siiick. Tim followed it right up seamlessly with the same feeling.
Came here after watching Playing God. This group is so talented, and just keep evolving their sound! I love how upbeat this song is. Very thankful that such beautiful and fulfilling music is being created by such a unique group. Keep jamming!!!
As the world gets hard, we get harder too. We forget how to love as we become professionals in division. We must try to be as little bit affected by our environment as possible. Every day, do something that only YOU would do. A walk with the dog. A hike with a friend. Favorite hobby. Something that makes you feel like Carlos. When we become good friends with who we are, we are never alone.
The bass and drum groove at 0:38 - 0:58 is on another level. You guys should take this groove and build on it in some other context aswell, its a heartgroove. That's what I call it, something that grooves with your heart. A heartgroove, this is one of those
Going down the Polyphia rabbit hole like most of you and then I discover this song WOW. More of this please! I’ve found loads of bands over the years but man there is just something special about these guys.
My friend from work shared this with me after I had a nightmare, and he said it was a “happy song.” Well… it’s definitely elevated my spirits! Brilliant work, you guys!!!
We (I) certainly do. Just bought the Neural DSP guitar plugin for Plini, in fact lol. Best, and most bang for the buck purchase I've made in a very long time
Polyphia never fail to impress me with their sheer music prowess. Great band and lots of great music. The hours, days ,weeks ,months and years these guys worked and continue to work to play at this high level is nothing short of amazing. Polyphia Rules !!! Love to watch these guys lay down the jams !!
As much as I fucking love Ego Death, can I say that this is the song from them I like the most? It's still a pretty technical piece, but at the same has (to me) a nice, warming, yet sad and lonely feeling, it's really melodic and feels really fresh. I can't stop vibing to it. I love this song.
These guys bring a spirit and energy to this "shredding/technical" style of music, which normally I'm not into. But these guys are great and making music that feels good. I dig it!
Polyphia may not be Steely Dan stylistically but they sure as hell are on the same path in terms of harmonics and how seriously they take their playing and song structures. One of the most seriously talented bands to come along in decades.
This has to be, for me, the best song ever made. There are soo many feels in this track. It's 2021 and it's scary how it hits home within my soul. There is happiness and sadness combined here. Sums up the times we live currently. Don't stop making music guys!
I don’t know what it is but this song just feels like late 90s early 2000 anime. Like a song played during the credits or a montage in a story. I love it.
More like a perfect crossbreed of virtuosity and pop factor. I like it a lot. I hits all the right notes on technique department but is also light on the ear.
I'm not into rock, but this is amazing. Maybe it's because it is not just 4 power chords played with maximum power, but a skillful, structured jam session. Awesome!
The song that brought me to this band and every time it comes on it hits the same as the first time hearing it. An amazing talented group. Polyphia is a steady listen everyday.
Flying through space at a half a billion miles an hour, in the sunshine being free and just jamming for all the universe to hear at some point and the smiles that light the universe is seen by all throughout...!!
The concert in New Orleans was wild by the way. Goodness. It was a moshing madness. && I wouldn’t worry about their looks~ appreciate the music they’re creating for us to jam to~ I’m totally thankful for that yo.
Haha, back in 2017/2018, I would always attempt to whistle this song... no one around me ever complained about it.. thanks for the good times!...PEACE!...
steve vai has guitars that are older than them, but i know he sees true value in this genre which is pushing physics and thought. its no surprise he agreed to be there. im glad it happened. passing the torch so to speak.
