Celebration for the completed restauration of an ancient church in a village in Georgia (Caucasus); besides generous supplies of delicious food and wine, there was amazing polyphonic singing, characteristic for this country - April 2010
The Georgians are really that way. Big emotions (the good ones and sometimes the bad ones as well, but always the truth), they are always honest, have great hearts and emphaty for the guest without end. I once was there for about two weeks, a long long time ago. This lasts until today. In case I hear or see anything about Georgia (Sakarthvelo) I cannot help but getting a big smile in my face. I wish the country and its wonderful people all the best!
All Orthodoxic Nations can sing beautifully; of because the polyphonic church singing. For us Catholics, all the work are doing organs unfortunately. You are trained in such singing for centaury. We will never reach the level of your mastery! Pleasure to listen. Niech Pan Bog Wam Blogoslawi Bracia.
This is a wonderful way to grow up. No CD player, so you make your own music. I am no technophobe, but seeing this makes me want to throw out every electronic device in the house. (Wait a minute. What am I saying? There has got to be a happy medium somewhere.)
Giorgi Shaburishvili do you know what gender segregation means? If yes than where did you see it in Georgians? This question is about ethnic Georgians not about minorities living in Georgia.
mshvidogio when I was there 2001 it was segregated. Georgians only. Near Tbilisi. Only the young woman who invited me was present at the main table. The rest of the women were in the kitchen and a small adjacent room.
