In this video, we will be looking at the Waterworks range of Polypropylene and Nyglass BSP Threaded Fittings which are widely used in general water reticulation applications.
Let’s take a look at the specifications.
- These fittings come in sizes from 15mm to 100mm.
- All fittings are polypropylene apart from 100mm tank fitting which is Nyglass. We can provide other Nyglass fittings on request.
- Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer, and Nyglass is a glass-reinforced nylon material made from a blend of nylon and glass fibers. Nyglass has a higher strength resistance compared to fittings made from regular nylon.
- Both are durable materials and can withstand exposure to harsh weather elements. They are resistant to corrosion as well as some chemicals.
- They are relatively lightweight making them easy to handle and install.
- All fittings up to 50mm are pressure rated to PN16, and all larger sizes are pressure rated to PN10. These fittings can handle moderate temperatures; however the pressure rating must be de-rated if the temperature increases above 20℃.
- As the name suggests, the fittings on these threads are BSP threaded connections which comply to British standard pipe thread specifications and are commonly used throughout New Zealand.
