I see why the chitin is so strong now, because the CH3 and OH points make a weak bond, but being in long polysaccharide chains makes them overlap ever so nicely.

First off please forgive me as I am an 8th grade dropout and do not understand many of the things taught before this video. My first question is would feeding a horse or cow chitin help to multiply the chitin ? Also as it bonds to nitrogen and not oxygen can I feed it nitrogen to help it multiply ? My project at home is going to be a passive or cool compost of crab and shrimp meal, yeast, insects, and the muck they scrap off the bottom of boats for an alge source. Should I add an extra nitrogen source ? Also would hot or cold composting gain me the highest chitin population ? Thank you and I am sorry in advance for so many questions but your video really got me thinking. I will subscribe.

What about the microbes in our guts? i should look up if anyone has looked into the gut microbiome of entomophagous peoples.
