This little guy is soft, doesn’t melt, can be posed (to some degree) and can even do a little dance. Frosty’s got nothin’ on this pom-pom snowman!
Yarn: 1 skein (white) Felt: black, orange (only small amounts needed) Twigs from the yard Thin cardboard (like a cereal box) Cardboard: corrugated, about a 3 inch circle Three cups or objects you can trace A quarter Scissors Pencil Glue

Pro tip, if you have a pet brush, gently brush out each pompom after it's haircut to make it more fuzzy looking, just be sure to have made your knot extra tight and strong if you do, and only brush the very surface 💜

"Chubby Millennium Falcon" is my new favorite descriptor. 😁 Also, thank you so much for this series! I've been having a hard time feeling the holiday spirit this year -- nothing is really wrong, things have just been busy and it's been hard to settle down and do anything Christmassy -- but these little crafts have brightened my day, and given me some ideas for things to do to make it feel like Christmas. ☺

To avoid having the yarn ball flopping around as you work, you can pull the other end out from the middle. It's not always easy to find though and you might have to reach in a pull a wad out from the center.

It helps to squish the skein into a ball a few times! Usually that loosens up the very center, you just might have to rewind the last bit of yarn when it's almost depleted.

Making pompoms takes so much time 😭 I spent the entire afternoon on mine a few years ago and while I love it, wrapping yarn around cardboard got pretty... boring after a while 😬 Those are the cutest snowmen though 🤍🤍🤍

I reaaaally hope that the last day will be a full doll. Like an advent calendar, the last day is always a bigger prize. I doubt that it’s going to happen, since these are more tutorial, and her doll customs are usually not as tutorial-y? But I can always hope.

I've always made pom poms with full carboard circles and struggled with it bc then you have to cut shorter pieces of yarn bc they need to be pulled completely through the hole, cutting the little split through which yarn can go through seems so much easier!!

The off-cuts of the pom poms can even be kept for future projects! With the white, you can easily use them to imitate snow; and I personally like to use the off cuts because as (additional) stuffing for plushies and the like.

This pompom instruction looks like it'll work way better than the method I read in a book, why didn't they say to make a notch in the side for easy removal?
