Michael Yochelson, MD, vice president of Medical Affairs, chief medical officer and a neurologist with MedStar NRH, appeared on WUSA9’s morning show Great Day Washington recently to discuss a new device called the Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator or PoNS™ device. The device is being used across the U.S. and Canada, including right here at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in D.C., to test and see it’s effective with patients who have less severe traumatic brain injury. Talk show host Montel Williams, who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, appeared in the segment with Dr. Yochelson as well and discussed how effective the device is in helping him with his ongoing balance issues. Those interested in signing up for the clinical trial, to see if you’re qualified, should go to: braininjurytrial.com/en/
