Hey I’m 16 and am planning on buying h&r sport springs to drop my g8 gt until I make enough for coil overs. Obviously I could do that but my problem is fitment. I have 19 inch g8 gt wheels and I would roll the fender but do I need to do anything else to fix the gap?

@@auhowdy8774 I have 20 inch wheels on mine (VE Commodore in Australia, but identical car in every aspect) and didn't need to roll the fender to fit them. I also have SSSL low shocks all round.

I also got the pedders damper and ride adjustable, this setup is a good way to go, my car originally had the magnetic sports suspension, i was told to upgrade to Pedders and havent looked back

Suggest taking them apart in front and redoing all that as it does.mattwr on these cars. Should also fully tighten the nut that holds all together first with wrench and socket in top then loosen the tension on your spring slowly and allign the top hat with the back before fully unloosening springs. May have fucked those really nice bearings

You have to line the top hat w up with the sway bar link mounting point on rear of strut

Firstly, that part you took off the bearing is the cap that keeps it from "exploding". Put that on. Secondly, NEVER hold the shock with vice grips, it will score the shaft and damage the shock absorber. Just put a 24mm spanner over the large nut at the top, then a smaller size spanner (usually a 10mm or 12mm) over the end then do it up. Alternatively, use an impact with a 24mm socket and you don't need to hold it at all to stop it spinning.

If you’re referring to the fact you have to drop the rear subframe and tank to replace the fuel pump, you have America to thank for that. The VE commodore was designed for the US as the G8, and a US safety law meant the fuel system couldn’t be accessed from the cabin

How does it ride? I have eibach springs on my car but it keeps blowing out my Monroe struts. I ordered the same struts.

What did u do inside the car for the rear? Trying to do rear coilovers but can’t find the top of the coil from inside the car, did u have take the rear seats out?

Oh I didn't have to do that cause these aren't coilovers. You have to drill a hole somewhere if im not mistaken. There should be instructions about it somewhere
