Showing ignition (red) wiring to an outside source ( Pass. Side Fuse Box ). In this case I pigtailed to one leg of a 20a/12v blade fuse fuse. That fuse was live and was meant for heated seats which my base model 2007 Pontiac Grand prix. No bells and whistle's. No monsoon system, no On Star, or steering wheel controls. Pontiac, Grand Prix that aftermarket radio looks way better than the factory. I definitely recommend buying the radio for a Pontiac Grand Prix.

Ran numerous stereos/remote turn on for amplifiers off fuse terminals. Quick and easy. I see no problem with this at all.

What about the steering wheel controls? With the new wiring set up are you able to keep the controls?

No there is a separate adapter for this. The GP model doesn't come with the steering wheel controls.

so if I tap into one of my fuses that I am currently not using like my sunroof (i dont have one) then it should in theory turn off when i turn my key off right?

I jumped my red wire to the sunroof fuse (I don't have one) and it turns off with key. Jumped the yellow to the heated seat (I don't have heated seats) and it keeps memory

Try to find another fuse that isn't being used that's live. (On) when the car is running. But be careful you don't want to draw to much amperage from the wrong source. Have a multi meter near by to double check your readings.

When I put it on there the radio do not go off when I turn the car off

You have to makes sure you turn the head unit on and off so it doesn't drain the battery.

My 2001 GTP yellow wire has no power. Radio fuse is not blown and red wire has power when key is on. Radio won't turn on. Any suggestions?

That's a hard one. I would have to look up GTP manuals pr diagrams. Let me see what I can find.

So I got this part figured out and the stereo turns on, but there is no sound to the speakers. Also the car wouldn't even start not sure what the deal was, just put the half working oem stereo back in.

Speaker wiring could be off. Also make sure you have a secure power connection.

I have a 2005 pontiac grand prix gt it had the base stereo system not the monsoon in it. When I got it the factory plug was cut off. What all wires besides the speaker wires you connect together?

When unplug your factory radio there are 3 slots one big and one small you have the big hook but not the small what is the small one for?

Wait so I bought the harness do I cut the end of the red wire for power to hack into the fuse box to get power ? I’m lost

Just don't use the red from the factory run your own red wire to a different source.

I have a 08 Grand Prix took out stock head unit tried aftermarket head unit couldn’t get it to turn on have tried multiple head units now I put the old one in and that won’t even work, fuses are good I’m lost hoping this adapter will work do you think it’s because the gp harness don’t have the ignition wire? If I hook to the fuse box like you did would it work? Did yours work?

Essentially it should work eventually what I did is I just had to test every single wire individually and different sequences to get this to work it took multiple days and it was very stressful. You don't have to draw power from the fuse box alone there's other areas you can grab a 12-volt power

No that's the only downside. You must manually power down your unit.

@@jrockcastle5152 well my only problem with that is my amp doesn't power down when the head unit turns off ie. My battery is still being drained

@@chrismalone5062 yeah I know there's got to be a different sequence you can run to have both of those power off at the same time it's amazing that we have to do this just to have an aftermarket radio in a Pontiac
