That year (2004) had a custom stock exhaust that was tuned to sound like the classic 60s GTOs, not sure what they put on in that video but I agree it was a much more distinct sounding car than the 6.0.

You need to update your information....it doesn't work like that anymore...technology has improved past that point now. Engines perform better at operating temp.

This man loves his job and who wouldnt love this i mean come on my parents need a new exhaust on there sport trac its got a 4.0 was thinking about surprising them one day with a x pipe flowmaster 30 the dealer says they cant fix the current exhaust because its "outdated" 😂 so right now its pretty much straight piped

Just my opinion but I think the 5.7 sounds like every Truck from the 2000s . 6.0 has a nice clean sound while the 7.0 sounds like it needs an X-pipe or resonator to clean up the sound. The 7.0 sounds distorted like when you have your car stereo on max but if you turn it down two notches it becomes a nice clean sound.

aaaand that's why I have a cutout bumper with true duals. That paired with Kooks Longtubes/SLP LMII = Song of our people before cam/heads. IMO Perfect for the 04.

This is probably one of the most helpful videos out there… I’m currently trying to buy a GTO and don’t know which model to go for, sadly the 7.0L is not a model that they made it’s more of a motor swap and badges that people do. But I can get a good idea of what the 5.7 and the 6.0 can offer.

Ahh man I wanna get an exhaust put on my 04 GTO.. Most likely wanna go with a cam kit and then longtube headers and an SLP loudmouth exhaust.. Trying to price it out and find a good place to do it. I'm in Cincinnati

The black one imo didn’t sound like the others. It was too raspy and not tuned for sound like the other two. Just my opinion I know some people like it that way. That’s why I put the disclaimer out there. To each his own 👍👍👍

At the end of the day these are nothing but rebadged Holden Monaros from Australia 🇦🇺 unlike the original GTOs from the 1960s that we're real Pontiacs.

Mine is just a stock LS1 with an auto and it still sounds so good!!! But all the rest of my bad boys are loud and crazy. Just can’t believe how good they run. James Brown would say “ Good God”!!!!
