Would this sensor being bad cause my torrent to over heat and coolant reservoir to rise to the top until coolant starts pouring through the breather tube?
With this car I have learned there are a few issues that could over heat the engine: 1. Bad coolant temp sensor. 2. Crack in the coolant overflow tank or a bad coolant tank cap. 3. Small leak in head gasket. (If you constantly smell coolant I would pressure test the system and watch for leakage around the intake.)
Thanks for posting the video. Great Job. My Torrent has a cooling fan that keeps running long after the engine has been turned off. Has even killed the battery a couple times. My guess is a bad engine temp sensor or a sticky fan relay.
