Custom built 2000HP Pontiac Trans Am Firebird 8.0l V8 procharger in drag racing action. Hello and welcome to the Car Acceleration TV youtube channel. The Pontiac Trans Am Firebird has an unique sound and made for drag racing. Unfortunately, the TRANS AM had some problems on the Zerbst racetrack and couldn't set any record times. The best times are 7,891sec and top speed of 293.03km/h at 1/4 mile .Enjoy drag car with burnout and V8 exhaust sound.

The 1969 Pontiac Trans Am was the first of this legendary line of Muscle Cars. The Firebird wasmade by the American automaker General Motors (GM) under the Pontiac brand. During the time GM was developing the Chevrolet Camaro, it was decided to develop a Pontiac model based on the Camaro. GM designed the two cars in 1966 and 1967 as competing models for the Ford Mustang during the muscle car era.

I like the 70-73 front end with the 79-81 rear clip. I had a 77 with a 79-81 rear.

It actually means the cars chassis is that of a 79-81 judging by the taillights and back window, the front end is considered the “clip” if it’s all pieces together, (hood, fenders, and nose or grille) yes that’s a 70-73 nose piece, however those are correct feder cowls for the 77 and up. Everyone would rather have a 70-73 ram air 455 t/a to build, but ya just can’t find em, so u get what u can and make a sorta clone. Cheers from 🇨🇦

the rear end looks like a 79,80's clip from a t/a or firebird, the front nose is a 70's era, i know, im from the ohio area, the gm lordstown plant/ now workhorse plant. i saw a lot of 79/80's ta/firebirds in the area.

I suspect it’s a 79-81 TransAm with a 73 clip . I don’t care for the 79-81 front end as much , but thought it would have meaner with a 77-78 front clip like Smokey and the bandit

This was an awesome burnout, I'd like to see the bulid of this car. 2000hp that's gotta be exciting to drive, sounds like some people are haters of the owner of this powerful machine judging by the comments. I'm gonna show this to some shops I know and find out what an engine cost to build that makes this sort of power, can you imagine building a road racer with 2000hp Lord have mercy....

Drag engines don't hold up to road racing, they're meant to run hard for 1/4 mile and that's it, an engine like that wouldn't finish a road race, it'd be scattered all over the track at one point. Two completely different art forms.
