Your ancestors destroyed much of the cultures of my ancestors in Anatolia in a relatively recent past. The question is: What have your ancestors contributed in terms of human civilization? Was the destruction worth it? Did it create a better and more advanced society?

It is not your fault, but Turks and Turkey have a collective responsibility to recognise what happened and issue a apology. Not to deny or blame, but no show empathy to their neighbours. Also, it was 1922-24, quite recently (Not hundreds of years ago). I know people born in Pontos who never saw homeland again. One man's parents were beheaded in public, others were sent to camps to work and died. Plus the Smyrna fire, invasion of Cyprus and Istanbul Pogroms and deportations; there are many issues Greeks have had with Turkey. Once Turkey acknowledges this happened and apologies are issued, the relationship can eventually heal. The difference is Greeks were native to Anatolia and Balkans, Turks came to those regions 1200-1500 depending on the city/region. Not origianlly from Peloponnese, Crete, Cyprus, Rhodes, Thrace, Thessaloniki, Pontos, or Asia minor etc. That is a big disctinction between the two groups.
