Pony Express Trail on A Yamaha WR250F Part 1. On my dirt bike I travel from Vernon, Utah to Gold Hill, Utah along the historical Pony Express Trail. Many stops along the way some include, Simpson Springs Campground, Dugway Geode Beds, Fish Springs to name a few. Check out Part 2 also.

Ha! That payphone was unexpecting! So was Scatterdad picking up on an unknown caller ID (lol). Looked like a very meditative place to ride, need to checkout Utah someday!

I can count on Scatterdad, he's a good dude! If you ever come to Utah looking for some dirt bike adventure, I'd be happy to show you around.

We took UT56W to NV319W to NV93S to Caliente, talk about an uneasy feeling out there in the middle of nowhere! Incredible to do that on a bike, very brave.

It was an epic adventure. I like to see the roads less traveled.

Enjoyed following that on Google Earth, the accounts of early day travel across to California, regardless of the route, are well worth the read, the men that roamed Nevada (and Utah) in search of mineral wealth were a tough bunch, if only they could see how it's done today...on to part 2...

It is curious how short lived the Pony Express was. It was great to rekindle and add to my knowledge of it from what I learned about years ago in school.

I love those Rail markers that mark the old pioneer trails. There is a great section here in California by Highway 88 that goes along Pardoe Ridge. I have a video that shows some of it that drops in on Bear River Reservoir.

Very cool. It’s curious how prominent the Pony Express was in my history books throughout school and that it was operational for only about 18 months.

Rally With Rowley it’s been the best bike I’ve ever had. I have yet to ride the new YZ because it’s been snowy and cold at the local track. Soon. I think it’s warmed up to the low 50’s which is comfy enough to put in a few motos. Keep it going Rowley!! Loving the WR videos.

@@motosporttouring Thank you. The rides are super fun and then making the videos on them makes it even more fun. I would be curious to throw my leg over a YZ for a lap or two. Sounds fun.

A riding buddy would be nice on these longer adventures. I did do some camping. However, I didn't get any video of it, but I'll touch on it in Part 2

@@Rally_ADVentures 😆😆😆 noooo, your pack-out or gear to keep you surviving in case something happens wrong happens on the trail. Two devices to communicate instead of one, fire starting, water carrying/filtration, etc.

@@jaytownjunkyardfiles1999 🤣🤣 I thought you were suggesting having a riding buddy… fire starting; could be used to send smoke signals🙂 Two devices to communicate could come in handy…. There is always a possibility of a pay phone out in the middle of nowhere🤷‍♂️

Very good stuff very much appreciated. How many miles can you go on a tank of gas on wr250f?
@Rally_ADVentures
@Rally_ADVentures 2 года назад
I get between 50 and 55 MPG. So, I get about 110-120 miles typically on 1 tank of fuel.

@@Rally_ADVentures I have the same bike and same year. And I just got the Dual Sport Tusk kit to put on. I also ordered a seat concepts large comfort seat. I've had another bike and I love it. I'm going to dual-sport it like you do. I'm considering putting those nitro mousse bibs in there. That way I don't have to deal with a flat tires. Still considering that option.
@Rally_ADVentures
@Rally_ADVentures 2 года назад
@@chiptaxfree I have not discovered another bike that would be a better fit for my style of riding. Flats can take the fun right out of an adventure. (Or add to it, it's relative) The Nitro Mousse Bibs would be a great addition for a peace of mind.

Wow, great video! Riding that distance alone with fuel distance concerns would be too stressful for me to do! Just being honest. I love that type of riding as l have a winter house in Nevada to take advantage of endless offroad riding. How did you ever make it the entire 175 miles with I'm assuming was only a 1 gallon rotopax fuel container?
@Rally_ADVentures
@Rally_ADVentures 2 года назад
I live for the adventure. Although, running out of fuel is never the plan, it would be part of the adventure. Yes, that is a 1-gallon Rotopax container. I'll show how I made it the 175 miles in Part 2.
