crazy political ideologies tierlist would be epic, i wanna see if transhumanism beats anarcho primitivists and if centrists get a well deserved F- spot
Inventing 1,000 social programs that are partially-funded through 15 different line-item taxes, costs billions to simply administrate, and awards its payouts based on horribly mismatched criteria for the express purpose of avoiding a system somebody could reasonably call a form of UBI
It would honestly be fine if we didn't use social security funding as a slush fund. There are better social safety net systems but the current system would work pretty well if it wasn't for neoliberal presidents misappropriating funds.
Man, I know that I am just a number to you, but I really love your videos literally one of the best on the RU-vid. My mood improved after I saw a notification of new vid. Thank you for the video😊
You say "yes, yet another animal breeding sceme", but in my experience it's the most common one out there. Exotic bird and dog breeding comes to mind. The number of people out there who are willing to pay a ton of money for a rare parrot or a particular purebred dog are fairly small, yet it's still an underground industry, because they can just sell them to other would-be breeders, promising great returns down the line. My father fell into those rabbit holes about twenty years ago, and I mean both of them. He made a "friend" who was a big time bird breeder, and he convinced him to buy a dozen pairs of different parrots and fancy pigeons, with the promise that he could totally sell the hatchlings as pets. As it turned out, breeding parrots was not only hard to do without spacious enclosures and constant maintenance, but even when they did breed, nobody wanted to buy them. It quickly became obvious that the whole thing was this scheme by a networked inner circle, offloading their birds onto rubes who were hoping for easy money, without any actual market for them in the country. Same thing with dogs. My father decided that we would breed pekingese, because one of his friends convinced him that it was a great business. We spent a ton of money on buying them, the vets, medication, feed, et cetera, and didn't see a single dime in return. On the flip side, at least they were nice family pets, as opposed to the birds, which were just noisy, dirty, and both a money-sink and generally unpleasant to be around. TL;DR: Just because a scheme isn't raking in millions/billions and make it into the news, it doesn't mean it's not successful or widespread.
I'm offended that polish Americans were again not represented by the most genius investor/ponzi hustler in history Jan Lewan, who had bigger back than Madouff, because he knew the pope and he Regularly invited his "investors" to travel to private meeting with Pope.
In australia we have to have a 'superfund' that a portion of our payment goes to in order to contribute to our pension. I'll be honest and say I have no clue how it actually works but I can't help but be a wee bit suspicious
Fun fact about the madoff scheme- since the 1980s, the New York Mets baseball team was run by a family called the Wilpons. The Wilpons were horrible owners, who consistently left this team with a big market and fanbase out to dry while they under invested in it, causing the team to be poorly managed and to under perform for years, while they treated it like a write off. The absolute genius of the wilpon family invested millions of dollars into the madoff scheme (and others), and lost somewhere between $300-700 million USD. As a result, they were basically left incapable of running the team, and after years of pressure from the MLB to force them to sell, they eventually sold the team to Uber rich billionaire Steve Cohen in 2020. Cohen has been able to use his Scrooge McDuck-Esque fortune to turn around the team and get them to their best seasons in years in 2022 and 2024, and now they are viewed as an up and coming team and a very desirable destination for players to sign with. So, essentially, a family of idiot billionaires getting scammed by one of the largest scams in history, has led to the Mets being a good franchise again.
Omg I had an English teacher involved in the ostrich scam in the US! Idk if it was involved with the UK scam but I remember him being arrested as he left the high school one day!
You forgot about the Lebanese banks, they were offering insanely high interest rates(5% to 20% yearly) on savings to attract foreign investors and rival Switzerland with lack of financial transparency, they kept doing it for years until they defaulted on their debts, causing an economic crisis in Lebanon
Our government runs a very funny ponzi scheme. All workers pay a "retirement fund" percentage as part of the income tax. Keep in mind, businesses don't add to this fund. 99% of the workers are criminally underpaid, or even illegally employed to hide income, thus taxes. Essentially, we're funding retired people. BUT there's a serious unemployment crisis. AND there are more retired ppl than working young ones, as barely any babies are born. AND the age and years of work required to retire keeps rising, probably because the money is not enough. So...
Interesting tier list. I find it funny you added pension in there. I think many people including me shares the sentiment that we will never live longer than 50 years with the way things are going right now, why worry about pension?
I fell for one, it was Globe Life Insurance. Which is crazy because it's one of the biggest insurance companies in north america. But they recently found that "high earners" were committing a TON of fraud to artificially pump their numbers. Along with giving their top earners COCAINE to help them work more.
If you want to know what will happen to pensions, look at Russia. They are still paying out Soviet pensions on their nominal value, which, after the rubel weakening a lot in the 90’s is worth exactly nothing.
Can we do an accents tier list?! (I’m trying to work out which side of the England-Wales border line your accent is from, I’m guessing fairly close to it either way)
Thanks for the breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
