The original wooden threads on the shaft were ripped out and it was unable to be screwed together. I replaced it with linen phenolic as it is much stronger than the original wood threads.
The cue is a Schmelke Break cue with a purple heart butt and shaft
it has a 3/8-10 joint

That would be amazing if I could send you guys my cue to be tapped, recently purchased a cue from Cuetec and it is needing to be tapped for some reason. Trying to find someone to do it as I already bought the tap for the pool cue. This is amazing work!

I would cut a glue release channel down the length. This would resolve the compression push back and not put so much stress n the shaft walls.

I don't twist like that. I have brass included in titanium. textolite is brittle. and poorly centered(((
@arsbilliards
@arsbilliards Год назад
The original joint ring was off. Not much you can do about that without cutting it off and replacing it. I tried the best I could with what I was working with. 😆 Phanolic joints are very strong and long lasting. Especially compared to wood threads. Nothing beats the durability of a brass insert though.

wheres the hydraulic lock?
@arsbilliards
@arsbilliards Год назад
I slowly pushed the plug in so the epoy and air could leak out.
@playpool12fyao
@playpool12fyao Год назад
@@arsbilliards I started drilling a small hole through the joints inserts when I built shafts. The hole will prevent hydraulic lock, also the epoxy will seal the back end of the hole when inserted in the shaft and you have to drill and bore the size for inserts or to cut threads.
@arsbilliards
@arsbilliards Год назад
@@playpool12fyao huh 🤔 I've done that before but for some reason it didn't cross my mind to do that here 😆 luckily the hydrologic lock wasn't too bad.
