Glad I watched this video, the pool company and the concreters have said nothing about earthing... Just spoke to the sparky and "Oh yeah it got to be earthed!" lucky we haven't poured the concrete around the pool yet!
I bought a property with a old concrete pool. Every time when I was kneeing at the side of the pool on the concrete path to clean the simmer box and had a little cut on my hand I had an electrical shock. I thought that the pool was not grounded properly, so ran a new 6mm earth cable from the earth steak to the pool shell rebars. It was still doing it. Than I replaced the earth steak to a 16mm 4m long steak. Nothing changed. Finally I worked out the issue. The concrete path steel meshes around the pool weren't grounded at all. I had to break up the path to find the meshes at least 15 places. Of course they didn't tie the meshes together when they did the concreting. Since I grounded all the meshes together to the pool bonding it stopped electrocuting me. The videos like yours truly help people. Thank you.
My electrician said he wants to run the earth to the switch board. I should be able to save some $$ and have him just terminate at the filter circuit then. 👍🏻
