Pool Lesson Cut Induced Throw and De-celeration #VR #billiards
OK here's my first attempt at a VR pool lesson. Let me know what you think all. The camera angle for these types of videos may have to change but please let me know.
Cheers All

OK I'll state for everyone who might do what I did; you have to turn the screen angle with your mouse to see the video. I was staring at his light, no table for several minutes. Think like google maps walking. I have built up a pretty nice win record of doing it the deceleration way. Having to relearn how to shoot to hit it harder.

Lol I'm sorry. The 360 view doesn't seem to be too popular with the viewers. Just trying to offer something new. Really look into deceleration and cut induced throw. Master those concepts and you'll see immediate improvement.

Plus stun at soft speeds really adds to the amount of throw you get. A rolling cue ball causes less spin induced throw . Cut induced throw doesn't get as affected by stun or rolling cue ball. It's more about spin and speed.

Lots of potential with this 360 content :) Camera angle was better in your second video but I'd be interested to see it attached to you as point of view if that would work?

🤔🤔🤔🤔Hmmmmmmmmm. Now that's bold!

The super thin cuts. Spin and speed doesn't really help. You have to over cut the shot. The extreme cuts you have to completely over cut the pocket to make them.

Yup. The fun ones 😀

I understand what you're meaning when you say deceleration. But when I hear that term I think of people who have big back swings and have to slow the stroke down as they come forward. Not a good practice because it's hard to control and can lead to stroke errors. I better practice is very small back swing and a slow acceleration through the cue ball. On those soft shots for me it's all wrists. Not really any back swing with the elbow. but understanding cut induced throw is an important lesson. But this goes hand and hand with spin induced throw. Understanding these concepts will allow you to make cuts that aren't there any other way. As far as how I handle cut induced throw. It all depends on where I need to go with the cur ball. All things being equal I prefer just to overcut the shot a little to counter the cut induced throw.

Yeah I didn't want to get too deep and start talking about spin induced throw. I did mention it briefly when I talked about some unconsciously using some outside to make the cut. That being said this video was more of an experiment for the VR presentation. How did you find that?

@@HereAfterBilliards it was alright. I think a side view might work better. But it's pretty cool

It was shot with a 360 camera. Testing out the capabilities. You didn't like how the presentation was? The top down angle from the light?

@@HereAfterBilliards I’m sorry I didn’t know that I was control the camera so I kept looking at this bookcase. That’s what I saw so I apologize I caught your most recent one video and I understood how the process worked I like the idea. I’d like to set one up up to capture my practice sessions.

@@23mikefranc Oh gotcha. Yeah it's interesting. I got the Insta360 X3. Don't buy it without watching some videos on RU-vid to make sure it's right for you. Did you like the camera placement better in the second video? Also you can move the screen with you fingers... Not just move the phone.

VR lesson. You don't like? Did you find it annoying? Do you have any ideas on camera placement. This was the top view down look.
