Being a mature woman, 61 yrs, but still young and sassy, I appreciate how you are up on the trends but not necessarily to the extent that you see on instagram. No matter what length hair I've seen on you since discovering your videos a couple of months ago, they all work for you. In fact, two weeks ago I got "bold" and had 4" cut off and now have a very cute, stylish (when I get the styling right) shortish hair cut. You were the indpiration, so thank you😊

What a great video Dominique! I think you nailed how many woman want to look and feel while at the pool or beach but are afraid they may come across as being too uptight or high maintenance. As a woman in my 50's, I believe we should be able to express ourselves and our style as we please. So happy and pleased to see this content. I absolutely agree that even though we are much more casual during the summer months, we can still be stylish and confident. Thank you for posting!

One product I think you would love for a summer/pool look is the Bareminerals Sheer Sun Serum bronzer. It gives a beautiful glow and warmth to the skin, but is also very natural. I blend it in with a damp beautyblender and it is gorgeous! Lancome also makes a cushion liquid blush in a coral shade that would be gorgeous with this look. Great video.

Another tip for pool/beach makeup - using a lip/cheek stain, rather than powder blush, stays on longer. Benefit makes great stains, as well as some drugstore brands.

I am completely on the same page with you on styling and make-up for the pool and as I prepare to do outdoor festivals this summer, Dominique. Me too but I have sandals that are thongs without much heal that I wear as soon as it warms up in Michigan until I HAVE to put on real shoes!! I wish I could find a pair of huaraches like I had 30 years ago!! I wore those to death!! I also had a pair of sandals that I called the "ugliest sandals I've ever purchased" but everyone complimented me on them. They were brown leather and tied closed. I wore them until the soles were cracked into two parts!! When I find a pair of sandals I love, I wear them until they're well past their "wear" date!!

Great video and gorgeous look. I am part fish so this look would disappear on me after 5 mins at the beach/pool. I'll be trying this out on vacation and summer days/evenings out. I have been desperate for an attractive pool-side look as I've been exercising for the past 3 months but now that it's warmer, I want to kick it up a notch -- but without breaking the bank! I appreciate all of your suggestions so much. As somebody with more mature skin now (pushing 40) I needed to find something that had a bit of shimmer in it that won't soak into the pits and lines on my face. I may have found just that. I can't wait to try out some of these products -- especially the lip colors and BB cream! Thank you!

Hi! I'm a fairly new stalker...I mean watcher! I'm 71 and live in San Antonio. We are neighbors! I JUST discovered the down arrow!!! So excited! Love your calming voice and demeanor. You are very soothing to watch. I appreciate that in this hustle bustle world. It's a joy to find someone like you who is serious in her faith but still loves makeup! I believe it is not a frivolous thing, Dominique. When we feel and look our best, we are better ambassadors for Him. I love this video because I can use this as a start for a summer look. Due to the heat and humidity, as you know so well, everything just slides off my face! Sometimes after a shower I can't even get dry enough to put on makeup. For an older woman I sweat a lot. So, I'm looking for makeup that stays on; is non drying; and looks fresh! I have silvery white hair and green eyes flecked with copper. Summer colors are: lavender to purple eyes with copper pencil sometimes; coral lips and cheeks. I actually swim so I start out with a low ponytail, Sonia Kishkek (?) straw hat and sunglasses. After I swim the hat and shades go back on. Is there anything you would recommend for someone my age? I am going to start tanning in April! I was a bronzed blonde in my younger days. I have sunspots to prove it. In college we used the iconic collapsible aluminum portable "oven" by the pool AND baby oil with iodine!! But we sure looked fabulous!!! LolI'm trying to watch all your videos, Dominique. Have you ever watched Nikkia Joy's videos? She is a lovely young woman and so darling. This is too long but I'm sending anyway.I believe you know this or you wouldn't do it but you ARE a blessing. Thank you!Oh! I have NEVER owned a pair of flip flops!

I'm a Louisiana girl, I dress in cute stylish cover-ups when we go to the beach, Resorts or on a cruise w/ jewelry etc. but I'm rocking my flip flops once I'm wet. They are always cute match my cover-up and suit and tuck neatly in my beach bag. Flip flops are not all ugly! I have precious EXPENSIVE stylish flip flops that look like sandles.

Fun video, Dominique! Thanks for sharing it!I have been religiously using the Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream for the past few years, and somehow it gives a lovely illumination to my skin. I also find it has made my skin so, so soft. I use the Garnier BB Cream in the summer as well, when my make up is minimal. I am extremely fair, so I am afraid that I embrace my 'paste'; the thought of the work to evenly get colour on this white body is overwhelming, and I work extremely hard not to get any colour, or any tanned skin in the summer with lots of sunblock! Thankfully, I have a 'Winter' complexion so the extremely fair shade of me still falls into my colour palette! The other benefit is that I look a lot younger than friends my age who fancy the sun.I wear hats all year long, and I have some wonderful summer ones that I enjoy wearing. I only had to lose a few expensive pairs of designer sunglasses to make the decision to now purchase funky, and current styles of 'sunnies' that are super affordable. Currently, I love my sunglasses from online sites at Quay, and from Zerouv. 'Cateyes' are my current jam! Have you tried any of them? I LOVE your new 'do', Dominique! It is sassy, fresh, and as cute as can be on you! Our leaves have finally filled out, and my favourite lilac trees, and crabapple trees are subsequently blooming, and smelling divine here in Southern Ontario. Spring has finally sprung.....and stuck, after a long, and arduous winter! Sending my sunny, warm Canadian love, and hugs your way, Sherrey❤ P.S. Hello Dominique, I'm very sorry, yes, duh on my part. Yes of course you (and I) would want to look chic when going to a pool or beach setting with others. And I am glad to see that we don't have to sacrifice our total look just because we will be in that setting. I totally didn't mean to criticize ...you always look fab! I watch you all the time!
