This is wood apple Also called as कैथा. Its naturally grown in Madhya Pradesh Vidhya area too. Bel is altogether different.

This is called "kotha" in gujarat.. known as wood apple in english... tastes best with sugar if it's ripe and tastes much better if eaten a bit unripe with salt and red chilli powder..

@@soniac4348 u can add sugar or salt as per u want, it's totally opposite to apple... The texture is mostly the same as a totally ripe guava but here in woodapple the seeds are abit huge thn that of guava. And yh the taste can't be described as it has it's own unique flavour.. i wish u to visit gujarat and enjoy this delicious healthy fruit.

This is not bel. It is what we call kaweet in Nagpur Maharashtra. It is sour when raw then later is sweet. I love it. Bel is different.

These are wood apples and has different local names. In odisha we call it kaintha, which is mostly made chutney with spices and served. It's really healthy and very tasty!

Bel or Bael is different from kaintha or kaitha..ripe bel is too sweet but kaitha/khaintha is sour .Bel sharbat is very soothing and anti diarrheal..kaintha chutney is digestive.

Buah ini kalau di daerah saya SUMBAWA, NTB namanya Ganista beda lagi namanya kalau di daerah BIMA. Cara penyajiannya bikin takjub sih nggak kebayang saledri plus gula. Tanpa dibumbuin gula buahnya sudah manis.
