Hughie was clearly trying to not die, and figured playing along would protect him. He got majorly fucked over in this episode, and not for a good reason if it’s just to get to him to talk about his Dad.

no literally they completely disregarded how traumatic that was for him, and made a joke out of his sexual assault…men are the reason why men’s sexual abuse isn’t taking seriously, bc if hughie was a woman they would see his feelings as justified.

this is also why i prefer yaboiroshi channels bc for this episode they actually UNDERSTOOD and acknowledged how hughie was feeling and why he was emotional.

no fr they was being mad annoying talking about some fight back, like he OBVIOUSLY wasn't trying to blow his cover and die. and then when they thought hughie was about to break down about what happened to him and try to downplay what happened to him and laughing ab it was weird to me...Hughie was sexually assaulted so that shouldn't be "weird" if he's breaking down crying over that. I swear they have no emotional intelligence.

@@katerrawilliams4048 There are a couple of things getting in the way of people understanding things. They don't understand the notion of consent, and that it can be withdrawn. They don't believe men can be sexually assaulted. Men being sexually assaulted is funny because [insert dumb reason here]. It's unfortunately disheartening because the very same nonsense people spew online is what blocks actual victims from getting recognition...let alone meaningful support in real life. You can't help someone if you can't recognize that they're in need of help. At first I thought this issue was getting better, but it appears that it's only getting better very slowly. It's not a hard one; all parties have to be willing, and willingness can be withdrawn. No one's asking anyone else to bust out a business form before they boof each other, just to know when it's going too far. In this case, I'm willing to give a few people a pass, but the show clearly indicated, especially through Tek Knight's senses, that Hughie was scared the whole time he was there, and was not into it even with the cake scene, let alone the pure nightmare it turned into at the very end.

@@katerrawilliams4048 I thought people were better on this issue, but they still have a long way to go. It's not that difficult; all parties have to be willing, and willingness can be withdrawn. And honestly, with some of the stuff I've heard and read about that's actually happened to people, Hughie's situation was not *that* different. Hell, Tek Knight probably really is out there...I remember cases that certainly get close.

To play devil’s advocate tek knight never displayed any super strength or durability but i think it is stated that all supes have this to some degree.

In season 1 it was stated that Tek Knight injured a person’s spine trying to save them. Also he threatened to take off Cates hand in Gen V
