It's called different things, stump bucket, front hoe bucket, and a poor man's backhoe. While it certainly can't dig as deep as a traditional backhoe, it can tackle a lot of digging projects for a fraction of the cost. As the saying goes, "it sure beats a shovel".
This is a shovel on steroids, a shovel for your tractor. If you need to remove small stumps, saplings, old landscaping, dig holes for new landscaping, dig shallow trenches, or carry boulders, then this could be just what you're looking for!
I developed and created this stump bucket, not because there weren't other options on the market, but because I didn't like any of those options available. Most were too large rendering them useless for subcompact and small compact tractors. Others were proprietary in design forcing you to buy their system, and none of them had a combination of all the features I thought should be on the product.
So, check it out, at the very least, you'll get to see what you can do with this attachment and maybe someday down the road you'll find a need. You’ve got that wonderful rich black soil, all fluffy and soft... anything will grow there beautifully. I’ve got Georgia Red Clay. When it’s dry, a pick axe can barely penetrate it. The ripper has a hard time even when there’s no roots. When the clay is wet, it turn into a slimy slurry that will suck your tractor in like quick sand.

Love your videos. Occasionally I have a good idea. Here is one. Round the rear of your bucket so when you drive forward with it the dirt rolls forward. Only need to lift up when you hit an object. Saves time and effort

Looks like this will be a great product. Up next, some sort of soil/rock pulverizer for subcompacts. Current ones in market require 80hp or more for 60+ inch passes. Surely one can be downsized to small tractors (18”?) for new gardens, flower beds, etc.

Congratulations on your product! I would suggest a small 1.5"-2" hole in the middle of the SSQA and the JDQA, and the chain slot at the bottom of the hole. (Essentially a key hole). The pallet fork version has one, why not the others?!

Very nice design. Seems to work well on saplings under 6" which plagues many of us..Like the efficient use of the grapple (clear saplings and backfill/grade). Haven't tried backfill/grading with the BC...Great video as always!

Nice bucket attachment. I like that it’s not a wide as some other stump buckets. All you need is a little hydraulic thumb on that thing and you will be the next landpride.

Scaled up to the 50 hp range, this could clear a lot of unwanted trees fast! Unlike mulchers, the roots and all come out. Especially useful for removal of privet and mimosa silk trees that return from stumps, this is the way to go! These two are taking over our land. Now for kudzu, goats love it.

The tiller will work just fine. I got a few truck loads of asphalt grindings a couple years ago that had several bigger chunks in it that made grading it nearly impossible . l had my tiller on and decided to try it very shallow at first since this was on top of a rock driveway. Soon found out I could let the tiller all the way in and it ground the chunks up fine. Was able to then grade very well.

This video is the first I've seen where you are using the top portion of the grapple to manipulate the soil surface. I've been wondering why they were not being shown this way. For my wish list, I'd like to have maybe a spring tooth rock rake or landscape rake to put on the front of my John Deere 2320 so I can push rocks into piles to pick up with a skeleton bucket on my bigger tractor. I have surface rocks I need to pick up first, then go back over the same ground and dig up the buried rocks, then chase them into piles to pick up.

I really like this design with the skid steer style coupler. Would this be strong enough for a Kubota M6060? It looks well designed. The thing I like about the bucket it’s shorter then most stump buckets which is perfect for a tractor. Your definitely on the right track with this. Looks like an awesome product, waiting for you to get one in the 40 hp range. Have an RK 37 HS Cab that has already lifted a 23 ft. two wing cultivator rated for a tractor in the 75 hp range completely off the ground and carried it from the back of a field where it sat for 25 years, tires rotted off and hydraulic wheel lift cylinder rusted and hoses rotted off, with my forks. It literally looked like an ant carrying an elephant. I know I've got a damned awesome tractor setup, put one of these stumpbusters on my SSQA loader and really see how much it could do. I have a backhoe already, but when clearing a woods of medium sized stumps and things, it would be quicker than getting on and off the backhoe seat for every stump.

I need to remove a few trees and bushes this spring. Already started with hand shovel, bucket, and chains = a bit of work. I will need something to dig some holes for new plantings as well. I would like to see this stump bucket just a little longer (6-10"?) so you don't need to get so close and have just a little more approach with a slight angle. I think I would attach directly on my SSQA plate on my B2650 instead of using my Land Pride fork back plate. The weight of the stump bucket @ 100#s would be no problem either way for my FEL I think both my grapple and bucket are each over twice that weight and no problem for the tractor when picking up or scooping things. I've been shopping and looking for a solution. (meaning ready to buy soon ...)

I would put somewhere on there where you can put a spike in for trenching and back drag the bucket so the spike cuts the ground in the bucket just pushes everything to the side and shapes the trench for you. I like it, it’s never going to replace a skid steer or a bigger tractor but that’s a whole lot cheaper and more practical for most people. Looks like it’s holding up to the abuse and doing what it needs to do, it would be kind of cool if you could put the grapple top with that on the bottom of the grappler bucket also then you could just plow stuff up and grab it without switching implements

I almost did a 4066r, went for the 4720 used with old school hyraulics and pre emissions, and adjustable rear wheels. Sme size machine, short 8 hp. Good thing is the ground was not frozen solid yet. Rock hard frozen can slow construction class machines and break or hurt small machines. Ask me how I know.

Good idea. I hope it markets well. I do have a suggestion since you are still "preproduction". That is adding a "Bull Bar" near or at the top. This would aid in the "pushing over" of trees and shrubs. Just a thought. Good luck!

Great music choice, the grapple shows how heavy and dense our snow can get in Michigan. How frozen was the ground? That sure as heck did better at removal than a plain bucket; did a lot of that clearing an acre of woods this summer. Definitely on my radar to get for the other 3 acres of clearing, probably get something like this over a tooth bar.

You should consider a rear end loader. Lots of us have more power than those small machines but don't have a front loader option. Need to dig out Russian olive, dig ditches etc. It looks better than a pond scoop.

I have a Kubota SVL75 track loader and would definitely like to give it a try and see how it performs on it.

I have a bunch of old stumps with roots rotting for several years. I would love to see what this would do do to such a stump (up to one foot in diameter).
