A Quick video of a Dansette Major patiently waiting for some attention and a lovely little Dansette Tempo I have just brought back to full health.
Sorry for my lack RU-vid presence...As I said in the video...Much as I love the Olympics being held in London...It is making my day job extremely busy to say the least! So please don't think I'm ignoring comments and videos that all you lovely people make...Until the Olympics are over my RU-vid time will be virtually Zero.
I will catch up when things get back to normal.
Thanks for watching! Take care! :)

I love those Garrard changers. I'm pleased to see the flip over remains. As for playing side sadlle, perfect, I have that on a 7" from when it was released.

Wonderful and brilliant! I hope I can find one for myself. I will have to ship it you from America if I ever find one for restoration. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

Hi Bill...Virtually working 7 days a week sun up to sun down at the moment...It will be over soon once the 5 Ring Circus leaves town and normality is resumed...haha!!! Dansette brought cheap colourful players to the masses in the 1950's and 60's over here. They are extremely popular and highly prized now...A guy with your talents could repair them in his sleep...haha!!! I had to play SIMH on this 51 year old machine...I absolutely love it! All down to you! Many thanks for your kind words! :)

Hi Wes! All thanks to you and William...I love Stranger in my House! :) Even thousands of miles away from home on a baby 51 year old tube player Ronnie still kicks it! Sorry I've missed the last couple of Thursday nights...I have Friday off due to the Olympic road closures around here this week...I won't be able to get out of my house...haha!!! Thursday night...Nothing is going to stop me being on BlogTV's finest channel! You just can't miss the Weasel2htm show! Thanks for commenting! :)

You may find a date on the Tri-Capacitor pack, or on the amp chassis, there is always a date code on something. The Garrard Autoslim turntable didn't come out until till 1959 and was only made into the early 1960's. The Acos cartridge is probably the reason for the lack of audio, very few work now. Suitable 'High Output' Stereo compatible replacements are very hard to find! BSR X5H is the direct replacement. This now has a BSR SX6H white wired for mono, it produces just enough voltage at 1400mv

Its so white, shiny and beautiful, I want one! Another very nice restoration Jon and it sounds fantastic. Hope the five ring circus doesn't wear you down to much although I am looking forward to viewing it on TV here in Australia. Take Care. Ü

Hi Luke...I'm the victim of a rose bush...It caught me while I was pruning it...haha!!! The Major will have to wait his turn...Far more import things to do right now...Wink wink! :) Thanks for commenting! :)

Hi Rob...Dansette well and truly made their mark here back in the 1950's and 60's. They are so sort after and highly prized now...You share the same voltage and mains cycle we have...There must be a few on holiday down under?...haha!!! Many thanks for your kind words! I know it would have come out just the same...If not better in your very capable hands! Thanks for commenting! :)

Hello Great Job ...You Certainly No Your Stuff..Had the same deck years ago in a Ferranti radiogram believe the clone is an echo ...Had loads of these old suitcase jobs think one was an Alba with a BSR turntable my Favorite was a 60's HMV suitcase radiogram..Never seen your video's before but am going to watch more thanks for uploading a very interesting video...

Which Olympic sport are you competing in Jon? (:-> Nice Dansettes! I doubt that Dansettes were ever sold in North America although those BSR turntables were installed in many makes and models of players here.

Hi Chris. Yes...It does seem the Tempo's and Bermuda's are the most highly prized of all the Dansette's...They are as much eye candy as record players now...haha!!! I'm sure you'll get one...One day! At least you have the right power source to run them on in your country! Thanks for commenting! :)

I know Dansette did make a few export models...But I've yet to see one in the US. I'm sure if they weren't 240 volts 50Hz there would be a few living it up in America...haha!!! Thanks for commenting! :)

Hi Neil...I've just had no time at all...Real life and the work the Olympics are causing are giving me very little time for RU-vid and my passions. All the roads are closed round here this weekend so maybe I'll get some time for finer things...haha!!! Don't feel guilty...I'm sure all your 'to do' machines will get some expert attention when you have more time. I have a pile of them waiting for me too! As always...Thanks for commenting! :)

Hi Craig! If you manage to view the Olympics then I will have won my race! If they had an event for record players...Dansette's would win the cute event...Hackers would win the audio event...haha!!! Just getting light here and I'm down in the workshop re-capping for England...Best time of the day...Lovely and cool! Thanks for commenting! :)

Hi George...For a genuinely restored Dansette you almost need a mortgage now...haha!!! I never sell on eBay but I watch them go for huge prices!...Even after people pay hundreds for them so many end up here with me as they need a REAL overhaul by now...Not just a squirt of WD40 and a wipe with a damp cloth...haha!!! Good move not cutting your arm off...It would be a nightmare getting the records out of their sleeves with one hand...haha!!! Thanks for commenting! :)

GarrardAT6 How do you date your Tempo's? I'm new at this just picked one up and its in pretty decent condition, need to date it though can you assist in anyway? the cable comes through the righthand side of the lid opening, it also has the original cartridge and spare stylus but i'll need to put a stereo cartridge on it for my vinyl.. can you recommend a cartridge? also i'm not getting any sound would it probably the rectifier? Best Sunday1888

Hi, I have exactly this dansette! It has been working fine over the last few years but now the turntable doesn't go round :-(. Everything else works because if I push the turntable round with my finger it plays fine. I can't afford to get it properly restored as I am only a student. Can you tell me what might be wrong with it? How I might be able to fix it? I love the thing and would really like to get it working again. Best, Tom
