Sorry to see that poor packaging like this :( I hope this hardware will works anyway :) I never understand person who's package , electronic parts like garbage. Great film like always, and i'm really looking forward ,to see film from use this solder/unsolder station in action :))) Greatings from Poland :)))
16:33 I have same heatsinks, they aren't supposed to have fins grouped up like that... should be all spread evenly. Oh and then you got a Number Nine card, those are so cool.
Good to see you got a soldering station, should make the unfortunate damage on those cards easy to fix. The pads weren't ripped, so a few minutes with the soldering iron should fix them :)
what a great haul of retro hardware some real gems in there, the new in box voodoo rush cards WOW i mean ok not a well known brand but still how awesome is that, its a shame theres no SLi connector connection on those cards but geuss thats a rush thing.
Can I suggest recapping the caps around the memory on the right hand side of the board on the NF7 there (particularly the bigger one). Mine leaked after I got mine second hand and took out some tracks on the motherboard. The cap looked fine, but it was a bottom leaker!
14:00 that's a Keithley DAS-1601 data acquisition board (oscilloscope), got the same one from an old lab PC. Cool stuff, very high tech lab equipment back in the day, that went for several hundreds of euros 25 years ago
Great and interesting video, It's a pretty good desoldering station you got, I have the smaller version with only a desoldering gun and it has been put to good use!. Had to get rid of lots of hardware, maybe 15 years ago due to space constraints. Some of the ISA cards look very familiar - maybe they made their way to you!
17:10 1. Model 2. Certification number 3. Mutual 4. Date of manufacture 5. Manufacturer / Country of Manufacture 갑자기 한국어가 튀어 나와서 놀랬네요... :-) 지금도 서울 용산에서 오래된 부속들을 구할수가 있었요! I was surprised because Korean suddenly popped up... :-) I could still get old parts from Yongsan, Seoul!
@@RETROHardware Of course, but i love the sound of cards, unboxing type... ASMR haha Love you videos man, great job ^-^ 1 subscribe more and like for you ^^
I bought a lot of old HW and sometimes I am really shocked how stupid some sellers are. I believe that some of them just steal that HW at some scrap yards and they just pull it out of case by using force, it's really sad to see hardware in such condition. The most ridiculous thing for me was motherboard wrapped up in strach foil, all pins were stabbed into that foil and I was not able to unpack it and not bend any pins, there was too many layers of that stupid foil, it would take whole day to unpack it more carefully. Or other seller, foil again, but he used that foil under some painting where he sprayed something with black color and ofcourse because of warm weather, that painting dried up and cracked and it everything fell directly on that hardware. Sometimes I buy some retro HW, open the box and start just yelling about what idiot packed that. 😀 Some things are really weird and I don't understand why they do that, like they send you MB with no CMOS battery, ofcourse I have them and it's not a problem, but it just puts a bad light on that seller, when I sell MB, I always put new battery there or at least I let that old one when it's still ok. Or some HW which is totaly dirty or when you buy only CPU and it's covered by some stoned old paste. I really don't get this, they sell a CPU and they are not able at least invest 3 minutes to clean it? I just don't understand it. I have list of sellers on paper with people doing this and I will not buy anything from them again, or only in emergency case when I can't find it from someone else. I just don't understand this behavior, when I sell something, I want to make it as clean and good looking as it's possible, just sell CPU covered by old stoned paste is just.....I don't know, I don't get it. I just a few weeks ago, I bought socket 478 MB with some Celeron D installed and one pin was bended out of socket and it was pressed by cooler like that, I just don't get it, these people must be totaly blind or they just don't know what they sell. I can somehow tolerate it when it was for 10 eur with no guaranty that it will work, but it can happen to you even with pretty expensive HW.
I agree ☝️ The way that was “packed” is horrendous and a GPU probably got thrown onto the NF7 mobo and took the cap on the way! Also, I notice no north bridge chipset heatsink/fan, but could easily use an early socket 7 heatsink and use a small fan. Dab of mx2 or artic silver to create better heat dissipation
8:51 pro pro pro tip for removing Heat paste plugs from Cpu socket.. You know the Solder Sucker tool.. the spring loaded one.. GET ONE of those "hit plug with alcohol.. let liquidize for 5 sec.. and Hit it with the solder sucker.. guaranteed non evasive removal of plugs. guaranteed.
dnt think you got the mounting hardware for it either. it's a weird set up as well it has a frame that mounts to the mobo an a screw from the top of the frame that screws dwn on too the cpu. an it's ez to over tighten. killed a quad core 6800 core 2 extreme doing that. whoops
1:14 also why i hate water cooling given its maitanence intensive and expencive the mentality behind water cooling people is throw money at it to make it go away vs. work to fix it. so you end up with videocard messes like this on the market....
If you talked about the hardware, when you are pulling it out, with some type of excitement, it would be far more entertaining, IMO. Just playing that horrible music, isn't doing it, for me. I'm just giving you honest feedback, on what I believe would be helpful. I'm taking my time, to help, not hurt, your channel grow. Maybe my advice is counterproductive? IDK, you be the judge!
@@RETROHardware I understand. But, it would be nice if you could spread the knowledge. Anyway, it's fun to look at stuff that I haven't seen, in years! Good luck, and I hope your channel continues to grow!
Yes anytime you can do better. Maybe +10% maybe +300% better .... or nextime I can do nothing :-) In my conditions + equipment is currently max I can do +/-.
@@RETROHardware I think we have a failure to communicate, my friend. While I wish you the best, responses, like the one above, are a turn off! Again, good luck - I mean it!
