Mo Pitney, Jimmy Fortune, Billy Yates, Jeannie Seely and Tim Atwood pay tribute to the late Jim Ed Brown by singing "Pop A Top" at the Bluebird Cafe on June 11, 2015.
I love Mo's cds, but think if he released a cd of the classics like this it would sell like hotcakes. There's alot of us baby boomers still craving songs with a fiddle, steel guitar, and a genuine country voice.
I heard this song as a kid in the 1980s on a juke box in a red neck grill in Chicago. Instantly fell in love with Him Ed Brown a country music super classic.
My Brother in law, Tommy, his mother Maxine, his Uncle Jim Ed and Aunt Bonnie, I miss all so very much and the old stories of their past, music, God bless their profound influence. Nice to see a younger singer that has the real sound of Country.
MO is going to keep the country in Country. He is a great young artist. Am loving his keeping tradition of songs that tell a story have meaning and invoke feeling.

That's a great song Mo and you do it well! Back in my hayday I burned the dance floor up dancing to it! When I was stationed at Ft. Hood,Tx. we would go to Waco to the Melody ranch on the circle there and another place on the strip called Okie! Dokies! Those were the good days!

I have met Jim Ed Brown in Nashville on a project at the Nashville Net Work and learned he was a wonderful man and I have always appreciated his talent. And what more can we say about the Bluebird Café? Wonderful,iconic place.-one time I was there with my mom on a crowded night and sat at table with Don Schlitz and his mom. it was pretty cool.
Just now found this young man, he has a voice of a 40 year old that is original kind of like Haggerd, just different but soothing and nice. I'm going to buy something he has out!

I have heard Moe's on my phone different,times he us FANTASTIC,why haven't we heard more from him in Country Music.We sure could use some more if his GREAT COUNTRY TAKENT. Really enjoy his voice from my home here in Canada!
Can't understand why I haven't seen anything really recent from this young man. Such a wonderful talent should be at the top for all of us to enjoy. Only have found one CD on e-bay and really can't figure that one out.
All the mellinniels and even older generation are not into this type of country. They want the songs like, "she thinks my tractor is sexy" and such crap. They don't want country that is felt and sang from the heart.
I'm already a huge fan of Mo Pitney. Can't wait to see him skyrocket to the top with his awesome traditional sound and show Nashville what people are really wanting to hear. Not the yuck that's coming out Nashville. Just for history sake....Nat Stuckey did the original version of Pop-A-Top. Saw him sing it at the Louisiana Hayride when I was a small child back in the 60's, but remember it like it was yesterday.
