Hello hello everyone! Today I'm reacting to the British band Architects!! Hope you like it! Don't forget to subscribe, comment and like this video! Lots of love, Jami
All the lyrical content Tom wrote for “All Our Gods…” was incredibly dark and defeated sounding. They released the record, had a world tour booked, and then suddenly, the tour got canceled. Apparently Tom knew his cancer was terminal when he was writing that record. Being a friend of the band, I messaged Sam to ask what was going on, and all I was made aware of is Tom was having some health issues. It was very unexpected, and music reviewing site were calling the band a joke for pulling out of their tour and not saying anything other than “tour is canceled,” because it was their most successful record to date for first week sales.
Momento Mori is one of the most tear inducing metal songs you'll ever hear. It's Tom Searles "Swan Song" where he pretty much predicts his death is imminent and tells the world hes not afraid of death and that he only wants to "live and die in peace." Every single line in that song is quotable. RIP Tom🕊️
Your sister has quality taste in music 🤌🏽 I have to recommend the band with the most badass female vocalist in the genre. Spiritbox, and their songs Constance, Holy Roller, and Circle with me (live vocal one take). Really enjoying the channel!
Fun fact: Adam Christianson, Tom Searle’s replacement after he passed away, was in a band with Bill (bassist in Spiritbox) called A Textbook Tragedy back in the day.
@@bradkohl99 Actually Adam didn’t replace Tom, Adam replaced Tim Hillier a former guitarist for architects, it was Josh Middleton who actually replaced after Tom Searle died
Uhm, as someone who has been listening to Spiritbox before "Eternal Blue" even came out.. I would want you to check out their older stuff: "Belcarra", "Rule of Nines" and their very first song "The Beauty of suffering". The songs that guy above recommented are literally all from the album and also newer songs.
@@Lioness257 Trustfall and the Beauty of Suffering are actually my favorite songs by them. I recommended what I did because it gives the best representation imo of where their sound is at now. Also being as she is someone from more of a pop influence they’re going to be more palatable for her. But I’m totally with you, their older stuff is gold.
I can highly recommend their entire live record "For Those That Wish To Exist Live at Abbey Road". anything off of that is great in my opinion. AND it has an orchestra. sooo that's fun.
Gone With The Wind first then Hereafter (in the same video) is my recommendation. I still get teary listening to both. So glad you looked into a bit of the background and lyrics, it adds so much meaning to the songs, especially the two I recommended ❤ This video randomly came up on my suggested, I have clicked subscribe!
Sam Carter rarely holds punches lyrically, their tracks "These Colours Don't Run" & "Gravedigger" are very representative of this & are a bit older ( & objectively "heavier") than the ones you heard. Other awesome rock/metal bands for awesome lyrics I'd have to suggest: "Nothing More" & "Protest The Hero". Both incredible bands with incredible vocalists/lyricists.
when the bridge is ended, the light you see going into the ball of light was supposed to symbolize Tom's transition back into being a part of the universe again. hands down one of the only music videos to ever have me on the floor crying in the fetal position. Losing Tom was almost as unbearable as losing Chester Bennington. Both were absolute musical geniuses and their time was cut far too short. Only the good die young......
The greatest thing about this band to me is that they have incredible music and their lyrics tell great stories of life & death. Wasn't too fond of their recent album but I still respect them for doing something different.
You have to check out the band Jinjer 👌 Ukrainian metalband with a real badass female vocalist! They blend metalcore with lots of other stuff, funk, jazz, reggae etc. Definitley my favorite band these days. If you do three songs like with Architects, I guess you could start with Pisces (Live session), Perennial (Live wacken open air 2019) and Home Back (official video), a very fitting song these days with everything going on in Ukraine. (Although the song was written after the incident in Crimea in 2014). Btw, you should also check out Architects - Impermanence (live @ abbey road with orchestra) 👌
I just stumbled across your channel, I love how you actually listen to the music and understand it for what it is, music. I also like how you dissect the song and it's meaning. I'd love to see you do a video on August Burns Red's song Ghost. :D
Recommendation for a pop singer listening to metal: Dayseeker. A few screams, but I believe he has hands down the best clean vocals in metal/rock today. Good songs are "Sleeptalk", "Burial Plot", and "Drunk". The last two even have live videos that are really good.
Hey, just wanted to say I'm watching these videos as I recover in hospital, nothing too serious but it was sketchy a few days ago....and can confirm the visuals aren't far from what I was seeing as all I could do was be kept alive by the awesome staff here. ... also Royal Beggars is one of my faves by them so glad u reacted to it... though I was typing this up ...so I'll skip back 😄
thank you for reacting on ARCHITECTS :) PLEASE MORE! - Architects - "Dying Is Absolutely Safe", Architects - "Gone With The Wind", Architects - "Memento Mori", Architects - "Flight Without Feathers", Architects - "Goliath".
I like his reaction because he listens without pausing every 5 seconds like others do, it shows in his expression that he is enjoying and understanding the lyrics, keep it up !!
Your reactions are great! And you sister sure knows how to pick good songs to react. I think Dayseeker or Dance Gavin Dance would be bands that you'd really enjoy, great melodies/instrumentals and both Rory and Tillian(the lead singers of both bands) have amazing voices.
i love your three song reaction structure to introduce a band and hope that you will check out more from Architects the variety on the latest album is amazing or if you want heavier stuff then track back to the older stuff. . Could I also suggest a similar introduction to the band Porcupine Tree. Try ‘Trains’.’Fear of a blank planet’ and ‘Anesthetize’. There are great live versions of all three songs on YT. (Yes I know the last one is a bit long but believe me it is worth it. If it is just too long for your format perhaps you could substitute ‘ The start of something beautiful’ again a great live version is available)
For songs by them, I'd recommend 'Gravity', 'Gone with the wind', "A match made in Heaven" and "Mortal after all". I don't believe either of those has actual videos though but they are on RU-vid with lyric videos."
Seconding the Spiritbox recommendations Check out her one take vocal performances and my favourite song sun killer she's amazing Sam Carter even features on one track
The second verse of Animals: "I dug my heels, I thought that I could stop the rot. The ground gave way, now I've lost the plot. Fucked it again, that was all I've got", hits fuckin' hard when you're someone that's dealt with chronic depression and fighting a constant defeatist mindset. As for recommendations: "Gone with the Wind", "Memento Mori" (if you really want to cry. also check the lyric video by TSArtwork to get the lyrics with the music), "Naysayer", and "C.A.N.C.E.R". Absolutely killer tracks that hit me right in the feels when I first heard 'em. Glad ya enjoyed!
Great video, may I suggest the band Sleep Token? Heavy stuff with absolutely beautiful voice. Songs like Jaws, The Offering, Atlantic, Higher, Blood Sport, I don't know, you pick!
Hi Jami, loved your reaction. Can I recommend you listen to the song Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013 by the band Nightwish? I am sure you will enjoy it!
I know you have lot's of requests, but I enjoyed your reaction so much, that I rhink you should try "Spiritbox - Constance". It's unbelievable track, which hits the deepest depths of emotion and has excellent production! Wish your channel prosperity
You should definitely check out the best band out right now in my opinion IMMINENCE. You should do Temptation, Ghost and Chasing Shadows / Alleviate. The singer has an amazing voice and also plays violin in their music its beautiful you wont regret it. S tier band.
This is heavier than their previous album which I dig! Chorus is massive too. Speaking of massive choruses you should react on out the new October Ends song Play Time. SICK song 🤘
The screaming part is interesting. Architects style reminds me of early Linkin Park and the late-n-great Chester Bennington. Thanks for the introduction and reaction to Architects.
@@ultimatetrishbhatia the op was clearly referring to Sam screaming like Chester. Like wtf. Obviously architect's dont have a counterpart to Mike Shinoda. Jeez lol
Check out Erra. Deep lyrics, top notch instrumentation, and lead guitarist Jesse is a beast on vocals. I'd recommend "Breach", "Divisionary", and "Vanish Canvas"
Check out Imminence from Sweden (acoustic set) and Sleep Token from London. Trust me when I tell you this. You have never heard a singer like Vessel from Sleep Token!!!
Thanks for reaction 3 Songs at once, great Reactions 💗🎵💗 Can you please react to "Architects - Hereafter" and "Architects - "Animals" (Orchestral Version) - Live at Abbey Road" ? Best Regards from Germany
Please react to 'starset', I think you'll love them. They're a cinematic rock band. Here are some songs that show their versatility : Telescope (soft, ethereal) Telekinetic (heavy) Everglow (a mix of both)
You should react to Ice Nine Kills, they're a horror themed metalcore band and they're amazing, quite heavy but with some beautiful and very theatrical melodies as well :) I'd recommed the songs Me Myself and Hyde, The American Nightmare and A Rash Decision
Jami, depois, se der, reage a duas músicas deles. Discourse is Dead e Dead Butterflies. São do trabalho mais recente deles, o For Those That Wish To Exist.
Please react to some older stuff from Architects for a completely different experience. Follow the Water or In Elegance from their 3rd album Hollow Crown
You really should listen to their last Single "Impermanence (Live From Abbey Road)". Sam Carter got such a dynamic in his vocals in that song. Just Beautiful.
I kinda liked the stuff on their album better, like Animals and Dead Butterflies. This song ain't too bad but it ain't that good either imho. Should do a reaction video for October Ends Playtime soon. Seen so many people requesting it
Recommendation for listening to metal: quality headphones. Not apple pods. Real headphones. You don't catch all the eccentricities of the musical composition, I feel, with computer speakers. You can't feel the drive of the drums and heavy guitars, the layers of guitar melody in the background, and the better clarity of heavy vocals. Not to mention it's just a better experience of music in general.
Rip Tom and if you want the good good songs then there's these colours don't run , devils island ,dying is absolutely safe, impermanence, gravedigger ... Probably be easier for me to just say every single song they've ever done 😂
