It does work! My microwave broke, and I really wanted popcorn.Thank you! To speed up the process, I put the skillet top over the popcorn. It popped quicker.
To everyone saying "just take it out the bag" IT IS NOT THE SAME! Well not the same if you don't have any butter to add. If you use the bag put the pan on very low heat and CONSTANTLY flip it. Does work, tried pouring just the seeds in first NOPE looked up to see if I was the only crazy one putting the bag in the pan lol
Have one of those German microwave/oven thing and it did not work for making bagged popcorn, so I tried this with another bag and couldn’t believe it actually worked. Good looking out 👍🏾
Temperature is important. It worked fine over medium heat on my stove eye, but I shook the bag with tongs and shifted the pan around so not to ruin the pan. Worked on a propane stove on the lowest stetting while camping too and with no mess!
This apparently works! Thanks! I only had oven toaster and when I put it for 1 min the paper burnt, I force stop it and tried this, save me from throwing away $2 corns Side note tho you need to shake the bag, so the popcorn that already popped won't burnt, I only shake the pan at first and some of it got burnt (only about 5 to 10 corn at most)
How are you can make popcorn and a heavy bottom pot you don't have to do this. This just seems extremely naïve and rather stupid when you think about it but hey, that's the American way. Ha ha.
@Blinx Honey bruh i understand what he meant and I'm pretty sure everyone does your just to dumb to understand how about u read gail's comment first then read his and then reverse how he said it then you would understand I stg and smh people like you are annoying and I ain't siding with anyone I am just saying also sorry for my rude words but I had to no I Wanted to point that out but I got to say this is pretty dumb i would rather not eat popcorn than do this
My microwave broke two days ago. I tried to cook it in the air fryer in the bag didn't work . so I'm going to try it like this thank you so much! God bless.
Just a tip, I saw this video of a guy who did it in cooker, i tried it, and it worked! In like 30secs so, thats a much faster way Basically you have to open the bag and pour every thing inside the cooker let the butter melt and close the lid, and in 3o sec you have your popcorn!
The hell just tried this with Orville redenbacher’s popcorn, all I did was shake the pan and it actually works, turned it to 8 on the stove. We bought a new Samsung microwave and a month later it just stopped working, this is really a good video
Absolutely. That's how jiffy pop works. I grew up the youngest of a five child household, with both parents. My dad was injured in his trucking job, and my mom worked at a sewing factory. My mom applied for food stamps, when they were actually paper like bills. She got $20/month. My mom would by a huge jar of plain popping corn, and we made it stove top. The butter cooks it. Then, she started hosting Tupperware parties, and one of the hostess gifts, was a microwave popcorn popper specifically for popping kernels. I remember when we got our first box of microwavable popcorn, cause I felt so fancy. Lol. I was about 6. It was invented in 83 or 84, but in 87, it did five times the sells, as it became more readily available for all demographics on a national level. Rather then just in major cities in all states. Idk....I just had to cut a bag open and make for my daughter. It's best to get the extra butter ones, with its own seasoning. It's just easier, because your amount of butter needed, is already measured out for you, so you don't put too little in and risk burning it, and there's always such things as too much butter, too. I think it could potentially make it soggy. Never chanced it. Lol. If I make a video, it'll be the first one I ever post to my channel, just to give you two a demo, if you'd like. Or I could email it to you. Just trying to share what I know. Brings back some awesome memories!
I actually tried this before reading the comments,my paper also burned but didnt catch fire, just the bottom surface was black and became really brittle, but everything else is fine and popcorn came out perfect and has very less uncooked corn seeds,as compared to all the effort for putting it in sauce pan and getting raw corn after cooking..
I tried this before and well... Same result as many here. Just watching this video I could literally smell the burnt popcorn and hear the fire alarm in my semi-schizophrenic head. Anyway I'll give it another try, medium-high, with all the shaking and stuff. If I don't edit this post within the next 30 minutes it's because I'll be too busy opening every window, banging my fire alarm with a hammer and cleaning up the mess. Edit: It worked this time. Thanks.
I have never seen anyone do popcorn on a stove without taking the product out of the bag :D So weird, but seems to work. Im not gonna try it cause Imma prolly burn my appartment
Well let's just say I'll put the kernels in the pot and just pop it like that! I refuse to have the apartment smelling like burnt popcorn 🍿 and the smoke detector going off! 🤣🤣
Jacky & Mela well, we just got a new microwave so we don’t need to do this anymore but I put the heat in the middle and move it constantly so none burn
Lmao ikr. I just take it out the bag, scrape off the butter and put it in a pot w a lil coconut oil and cover it with one of those clear pot covers with the lilhole to let out steam
My brother did this and I guess he sent it to high because he ruined the pan and a blue liquid came out and the hole house smelled terrible all he did was burn the paper. 😂😂
