Absolutely ridiculous! The Pope needs to be seen to be believed. In choosing this mode of transport, Francis can only be seen by those at the front, and he totally disrespects the thousands further back who have been waiting to see him for hours. Use a proper Popemobile. Or, even better, the Sedia Gestatoria - it had a proper purpose, and it wasn't about bigging up the holder of the Papal Office.

Its the popecart. He didn't have time to swap it over after his 9 holes in the morning, so he just went straight to Trieste with it.
