***** OK, let me say something then. I came on here because I heard about what seemed to be Idol worship with the Pope venerating a statue. I admit I don't know as much about The Fatima & other visions of Mary. What you have told me explains a lot about the apostasy in the Vatican today. The Church is The Bride as You say and the True Believers are those that put their Lives in Jesus hands willing to do his will and not their own. In this I agree with you, but I see no scriptural evidence that supports the worship & veneration of Mary. I do however Respect Catholics and I wont say any more on this touchy subject. I am in a Calvary Chapel Church where we study The Bible Line by Line & it is The Final Authority on any subject-the world Rejects The Christ of The Bible and wants a Teacher that will tell them they are OK living in their sins I.E this is Anti-Christ, we are taught in His Word That we Must Repent, turn from our Sins & pick up our Cross & Follow Him. speaking of persecution, it's not just Catholics. Our Pastor was in Bible collage for years, and we do have a Bible study on Weds night we have a Worship service before that & also we start Sunday with a worship service and the a teaching from the Bible, we have Prayer after both services and there are on going programs to help the Poor & suffering as well as needs right in our own community. They have been taught by the Roman Catholic Church that the images and icons used in the church are not actually “worshiped” but are simply “visual aids” to worship. The Catholic Church long ago began making allowances for the idolatrous use of images by the way they reference the Ten Commandments. In the Catholic catechism and in most official Catholic documents, the first and second commandments are combined and then summarized with “I am the Lord your God. You shall not have other gods beside Me.” Suspiciously absent is what comprises the second commandment in the Protestant numbering of the Ten Commandments: “You shall not make any graven images.”
