I visited NYC in 2018 with my American fiancé. I’m Scottish and I remember the day very clearly as a 9 year old girl watching it on the news with my parents not realizing that many years later I would be standing in that exact spot where it happened. My gosh it was such a sad atmosphere and I didn’t take any pictures at all out of respect. It wasn’t the right place for it. I went there to pay my respects and then I left the area. Really really sad and being there in person put a lot of perspective on how huge these buildings were and how horrendous it must of been on that day. It truly is so upsetting and it’s something I will never forget. Being 5 hours ahead of New York at the time when I grew up in Scotland, it truly made me feel so helpless from afar for my much loved Americans. ❤️
I’m disturbed and angry by the people that don’t care they are standing by something that changed the lives of 3600+ people. The kids who grew up without a mom or dad. 9/11 changed the world. this is why the tradition that you remain silent around the memorial is here. #neverforget911

The number of deaths needs to be changed sadly. More people have died from the ash and smoke than in the buildings or on the planes. At least 3000 people... so in total 9/11 has killed at least 6000-7000 people.

My comment is not about hatred per se; it is about full retaliation against those nations and terrorists who initiate or threaten to initiate acts of war. The United States cannot be safe and secure with the doctrine which the Pope argues for, nor the doctrines which politicians argue for- "Peace at any price" and Just War Theory. General Sherman, during the Civil War, and Patton, during WW II, should be reminders to us of how war should be fought- fight to anilialate the enemy and demolish their will to fight. And in Peacetime, the old Irish saying, "Speak softly but carry a big stick." sets the tone for wouldbe aggressors.

joy4118 yep makes complete sense that on that day the US would attack itself with Israel even those Binladin took credit for the attack and that no Israeli pilots died that day and the only US pilots to die were the original pilots in the planes before they were hijacked and any who might have been in or near the towers when they collapsed
