i know your comment is seven years old, but for MANY years, no-one WANTED to work in the Freedom Tower. And by the list on the Freedom Tower’s Wikipedia page, of the 104 floors, 28 are “mechanical floors,” no occupancy.
Seeing that happen on the tv was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. People talk about Chernobyl, World War 1, or the Holocaust being the scariest thing they’ve ever seen but seeing dozens and dozens of people jump to their deaths rather than burning or suffocating is the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. I would rather be in a nuclear wasteland, a war, or extermination camp than be forced to jump to my death or burn because each of those 3 things has a chance of escape. I can escape a nuclear zone, a war zone, or extermination camp. There’s no surviving what happened on 9/11 above those impact zones. They were trapped and could not escape. Their only escape was death.
