I know the whole mascot horror genre has been overrun by half assed “horror” games like Garten of Banban but Poppy Playtime always looked competently made. Not to mention the game is actually FUN, unlike all the other games trying to copy it.

I feel this game can definitely become something more respectable if they keep going down a road of making it progressively more and more demented. I think too much shock horror could ruin it so its definitely better for the devs to play with you more in a psychological way like silent hill where you question the reality of the game youre playing, but not in a sort of "all in le head" way. I think poppy could definitely benefit by studying other horror masterpieces and use what fundamentally makes those mediums successful. I could think of one, maybe a monstrosity could use the voice of a victim it had previously killed. If you want some genuinely fucking nightmare fuel, look no further than the "bear scene" in Annihilation. It would be really impressive to see this game's reputation make a 180
