@@NixDarkLord im pretty sure he got hit by huggy but escaped with the wounds, considering the flashbacks from the gas (or straight up died and revived according to old theories)
Just imagine Woody and his friends in the Playcare and witnessing the slaughter of hundreds of children and adults as these monstrosities tear them apart and toss their corpses to the sides. Then, witnessing the aftermath of all the bodies splayed out across the entire building as Huggy, Catnap, Mommy, and several other toys come to life via experimentation carry the corpses to where they can never be found and be used for sustainable and other horrible acts:
For those who don’t know and are new to Poppy Playtime, the Hour Of Joy is a tragic incident that happened at Playtime Co on August 8, 1995 at 11:00 am. This is where all the experiments and toys fought back and killed everyone in the factory. It went for an hour. That’s also the reason why the factory closed down in 1995. That explains the events of Poppy Playtime occurs in 2005.
The people who participated in the Hour Of Joy were Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, Smiling Critters, Miss Delight and her sisters, Kissy Missy, Boxy Boo, and CatNap.
Clearly one employee got away. After Huggy Wuggy drove people deeper into the factory, we see one employee race for the door and Huggy clearly didn’t see them.
@@zacattack3838 The one you meet in the school ended up playing dead in order to survive and then created Barb the weapon/personality and killed the other Ms. Delights and ate them to survive because CatNap ended up locking her and the others in the school
what makes this more terrifying was the fact that there were a lot of monsters, and not just the ones you encounter within the games. this means that once the humans ran out, the creatures needed to find a way to sustain themselves, and so they started feeding on each other, whilst only the strongest survives.
The saddest and most disturbing thing is that, as Poppy said, the guilty paid that day, but so did the innocent, which is very likely that more than 80% of the employees who died were innocent, thinking it would be another day at work.
Something I noticed is that while the other monsters slaughtered the employees in extremely violent ways, Kissy Missy seems to be way more downplayed, as she just punches or shoves them, then immediately runs off without mauling them further. Kinda shows how she was different from the rest of the toys
If you look very closely at Catnap's scene, you can see some bodies wiggling. Its shown that Catnap not only killed everyone in Playcare through physical strength, he used his sleeping gas to force people into unconsciousness before their demise. Sweet Dreams, folks. ❤
This was disturbing, not only because of the video itself, but what it represents, which was called "the hour of joy" because of the revenge of all living experiments, what a crazy feeling!
I love this so much. The fact that Poppy Playtime is t afraid to show stuff like this and how they barley held back any punches. The no audio of the screaming and how they are just showing pictures of it instead of them moving makes it more unsettling and the ironic title called “the hour of joy” makes it even better and I loved how they just showed that no one survived this chaos by just showing corpse after corpse after corpse. Even after this I still don’t know who’s the bad guys anymore because the toys are kinda justified because of all the stuff the company put them through but a lot of the people that were killed during this we’re innocent. God I love Poppy Playtime chapter 3 definitely my favorite chapter so far.
If I'm here I will get a lot of likes wait I said it NOOOOOOOOOOOOO Edit: Holy shit how did I get this many likes. Don't people hate when people use reverse psychology for likes.
It actually makes a chilling amount of sense that the toys know this event as the "hour of joy." Imagine how cathartic if would feel to finally get to take your revenge on the people responsible for imprisoning and torturing you for so long. For most of them, this was probably the most joyous event of their entire lives
0:15 huggy 0:25 Mommy long legs 0:32 mini huggies 0:43 miss delight (extra in case one is broken) 0:47 kissy missy (uncontrollable) 0:53 boxy boo (in the hallway) 0:58 catnap (spreading smoke everywhere) 1:07 eventually some I think of the smoke spread throughout the factory)
This VHS made me cry. Most of those workers are innocent beings and to find themselves unaware that in the matter of a split second, they'd all be under attack by their own creations. But when the lifeless bodies were shown, it hurt really bad.
This is brutality done right, the tone of this scene is absolutely hopeless, but the creators don't revel in the misery and pain; all you see is the matter of fact result of an absolutely horrifying turn of events
I love that bass melody that comes in when Kissy is shown to also have participated in the hour of joy(0:46). It nicely plays along with our feelings of "holy shit, even this friendly character was involved in this massacre"
Something that always creeps me out is those damn Smiling Critter statues. All the dead bodies around the Playcare, and yet the statues still smile. Eerie feeling if you ask me.
blame the simplistic and colorful designs of the characters, the merch line, and content farms edit: I'm not saying the simplistic designs are bad, I'm saying they're one of the reasons why it draws the attention of children
Why is it sad that children are playing the game As a child, I’m not attracted because of the colours, merch or the disgusting content farms I’m attracted because I L O V E violent horror
This game franchise ruined by animation content creators who milked them, such as GH'S Also: Those GH'S ripoffs animation channels and R34 artists who also milked poppy playtime franchise, made the franchise more ruined Oh, I forgot for Lankybox :D
I find it oddly endearing that Boxy boo was added to the tape just to confirm that he plays just as much as a role during The hour of Joy as the other toys. Despite being only a cameo for the sake that he has his own game already. Just nice to see character that we know from a side game play even a small part in the main story happening. 😄(Also kinda sad that we can see parts of him already placed on the shrine of catnap indicating he has already befallen to the Prototype and joins the collective 😢)
1:12 i hate how the majority of those bodies are children, and how Poppy heard the fear and death of each and every one of them. It sucks how everyone in that dome was basically in a lion's den during the hour of joy.
I don't really think most of them are children (Heard theories from other people that the children were spared, probably to prevent children from being experimented on? Other theories claim that some children are still k1lled for the survival of the monsters). These "toys" were targeting Playtime's employees, both innocent (those who just came to just work at the company) and guilty (those responsible for the Bigger Bodies experiments)
It’s honestly depressing when realizing that there was also people who did not work at the factory there as well and were innocent. But the toys had no choice and were forced by the Prototype to do what was best.
It really got me thinking about the innocents that probably died there. Back in chapter 1 they were saying about how they were doing tours for the toy factory, imagine a kindergarten or preschool class going there for a field trip to see how the toys are made, only for them to never return to their families again. Or a couple visiting playcare to think about adopting a child, and never having the opportunity to start a family.
considering the tape where the couple came to the Playcare to adopt a kid showed that even for adopting people had to not just go to the factory but all the way down to the depths yikes. Bunch of folks not just workers got wrapped up in the carnage. Just thinking of what is going through folks minds with the intention of doing some good and giving a kid a chance at a family only to then realize all hell has broken lose and neither you or the kid you planned on adopting are gonna make it out of here.
I'm sure many of the factory workers were innocent as well. Loaders, cleaners, architects, accountants who did not fully understand what they were involved in. Just factory workers who were making normal toys, people who already knew the secret of the corporation, but couldn't tell about it or leave because of the contract and threats.
I think she was rightly angry at them, as she's angry at us at first sight but Poppy stops her. She's a victim of horrible persons and knew only later that not all of them deserved death. She was just defending herself in that moment, her only thought was to survive
1:05 This specific moment, from the protagonist's point of view, must make him feel empty.... That only one person remains alive from all that massacre is refreshing and at the same time lonely. As if he were grateful, but at the same time he doesn't feel worthy of that gift, and it crosses his mind "I should have died...".
"They killed Everyone. The guilty, the Innocent, It didn't matter." It's chilling, whether you were one of the many scientists who conducted unholy acts of creation for a living toy for god knows why, or if you were just a child without any idea of what was going on.... It didn't matter..... In their eyes, all people were tormentors... all humans were prey... and they all needed to pay for the pain they caused, whether they deserved it or not...
No I don't think the children were harmed, it's unclear what happened to them after the hour of joy, but many youtubers who theorized Chapter 3 mentioned that there are many employees who doesnt know whats going on behind the scenes. The scientists kept their experiments to themselves and the innocent employees thought they were doing the right thing, until its too late.
everyone had to die, this couldnt get out to the public otherwise it would be a disaster, why we lived is a big what if currently but we have a chance to fix everything
The scene where the man was running from Miss Delights was especially terrifying for me. Imagine, just barely escaping from a horde of monsters when another batch come out from your escape, so you escape into the only room where you can be safe and he probably sat in that room until he couldnt blink and eventually died by the horde
"Hey guys, do you think maybe we SHOULDN'T be designing these horrendous, cruel experiments to be gigantic, super strong death machines?" "Why do you ask?" "No reason."
They kept mentioning the "Hour of joy" throughout the whole game, so it gave me chills when the realization came that this is what they glorified so much. To the experiments, it was magnific and joyful, but to the player is just a glimpse of a big massacre. Really, really disturbing
So basically, because of those experiments on fusing toys with children corrupted the mindset and went on a rampage killing every single staff, except for the player(us) who presumably escaped or wasn't there during the rampage so obviously we didn't know why this place was abandoned
According to Poppy they hid the bodies deep in the factory ground (idk how is it possible) and based on the chapter 1 everyone things the staff disappeared
@@Pollypoppys golly, must be a very awful place down there. Wait….may be these unlucky people has been….eaten by these… monsters by the time the main character shows up!! Still….this is the only aspect that had me shake my head in disbelief. Hundred of people, both guilty and unwanted victims (including those orphans) were brutally murdered and disappeared from public eyes, yet all we have is one dude with a fancy bag pack with arms (the player) to solve the case…and he not even a cop. BUT STILL…the game is good. Big improvement compared to the previous Chapters. Kudos that.
@@minhha8981If it were less people I wouldn’t be surprised but that’s honestly hundreds of people and there is no way people wouldn’t have noticed that. Especially if they noticed all the people that disappeared happened to be at the factory that is now abandoned. So I agree, that part was a bit confusing to me but I do still think this chapter was really good.
(Don't wanna read this long text? Then don't. No one is forcing you to read more than a few sentences. I didn't make this long for "No" reason, I did it because the details matter. If you're lazy, just say it. I'm not changing the length. TLDR is in the comments. Thank you for the person who did it and who also wasn't rude.) Ya'll notice how all toys EXCEPT ONE are being sadistic with their killings? Kissy Missy was the only one grabbing an object to fight back. She probably figured that if she didn't fight back, the outcome was to be taken to a new facility and be experimented on even more. I think the prototype preyed on all their fear and desperation, on top of their anger, giving way to vengeance. They probably felt like they had no other option. And now they're either trapped or dead. If you look at Kissy Missy's body language on the elevator, it looks like self-soothing techniques, because the Playcare was a traumatic trigger in and of itself. She is absorbed with looking at a picture of presumably herself, a tragic reminder of the life she was robbed of, memories before mingling with the horrors she has witnessed. Think about it: You walked out of the orphanage with two hand grab packs, a normal every day sight for children and toy experiments alike, your back to her, and she immedietly jumped on the offensive, not stopping until Poppy intervened. I think in that VHS tape of Kissy being on that bound board from the train...after all was said and done, she felt horrified by the harm she caused, heard, and experienced, bloodied and mentally scarred, she went numb, nonverbal, and strapped herself back in a desperate act of normalcy, from the very horrors she spent a lifetime trying to escape. It just makes it all the more tragic, considering those with the same sentiment were probably deemed as weak herectics by Catnap, used by the prototype, or killed and eaten.
@@worosukesti6108basically theyre saying kissy missy wasn’t sadistic with her kills, she was fighting back out of fear, and now regrets everything based off of her current physical and emotional behavior.
"When man tries to play god, they will soon face the consequences. The thing's they kill, the things they create, the things they enslaved will one day break their chains and will take control of their own freedom and destiny. As they're now the masters of their own world and believes in this godforsaken world that we call home. We all should always be careful what we promised and wish for. Who knows what we will create next." - a random worker at playtime co. Last words
Every time I see a RU-vidr watch this tape it still gives me the chills every time.. the way it’s frame by frame and staticy makes it All the more realistic
The last shot with the poppy flower seen in chapter one is just terrifying and sad. Every person died there, even the innocent. If you realize why that flower is there and what it means, it really hits hard. edit: tf u all talkin about in the replies
They went above and beyond with this chapter, the dark theme got toned up so much to the point where it was not like poppy playtime, say goodbye to the cheap cash grab first 2 chapters.
This would be Sid from Toy Story’s personal hell when he dies after blowing up so many toys lol. Also, you’d think they would be smart enough to add safe areas and safe rooms all over the factory much like in SCP if they were doing these experiments and had these giant hungry toys walking around just in case right?
The saddest part is that any decision was bad for the toys and/or the innocent factory workers cause the hour of joy was horrible absolutely but so was every other decision. If they did nothing then human experimentation on the orphans and slavery of the toys would have continued. If they tried to only kill the guilty and keep the innocent from leaving until they explain that they had to kill the guilty to escape so the innocent understand that they aren’t going to hurt more that still comes with the risk of the toys being slaughtered anyways out of fear and/or misunderstanding. And of course what actually happened was horrible as they slaughtered the guilty and innocent. I personally think they should have done the second option but like I said that comes with the risk of them all being killed anyways. So really this whole situation is horrible and there’s wasn’t really a choice that didn’t come with the risk of more suffering and/or death to the innocent toy or human.
They built up The Hour of Joy so well in previous chapters, finally showing us it was so satisfying. We see just enough carnage that the rest is left to our imaginations, making it all the more terrifying. And seeing the dead and decrepit areas we've been exploring filled with life, only to then see how they became dead and decrepit shortly thereafter, was beyond unsettling.
I thought they were going to do a Bite of '87 and never show the specific event. To see the Noodle Incident actually happen is weird, to say the least.
For me, the guy getting cornered and trapped into a room by Miss Delight and her sister's personally gave me chills, the feeling of hopelessly running away from a bunch of murder killing teachers that will most likely rip your flesh out but get cornered by more of them leaving you no choice but to run into a random room that's most likely a dead end, leading you to your doom.
Finally, someone else noticed and pointed it out. You can see some of the children still alive and struggling and squirming on the ground, Catnap notices it and throws the kid to make sure they're dead.
So i've run some (very) rough numbers, and counting the bodies at the end you get about 176, which, when added to 10-ish present near huggy and the few we see die alone or in small numbers(boxy, the teachers, etc), i've concluded a rough estimate of around 193 bodies visible in the tape
Is that How Many People worked at playtime Co. Did the toys actually kill Everyone in the factory in just one hour. Or did some People survive idk im just quite interested in the hour of Joy plotline.
@@WheelBot12345 yeah so am I (hence why I sat down and counted bodies in 144p lmao) however i'm assuming they killed even more, since there's áreas of the facility we don't see in the tape
@@sergioruiperez7681 true. we saw tons of bodies in 3 locations. there are probaly more places like the mini huggy's erea. or in places we havent even discoverd yet....
Imagine your enjoying the lobby at Playtime Co, when all of the sudden your favourite mascot at the factory comes to life and kills everyone with a hellish freaky mouth, he looks at you and at that moment you realise, your dead.
There’s something about Poppy Playtime that just feels like more than a spinoff of FNAF, Portal, and Bendy. You can definitely tell it’s inspired by those franchises as well as others, and yet it still feels different. It combines the eerie elements from those different franchises, and makes it feel unique to a certain capacity.
the fact nobody is talking about the fact Boxy Boo is real in this continuity and may even be an enemy in a later chapter is crazy to me in fact, he may even be the one who attacks Kissy (unlikely, but possibly)
Well we already kenw project playtime and poppy playtime in thé same continuity but i am wondering where did Hé go? I think we might be able to kill him in thé final phase lf project playtime
I doubt that boxy boo will be next as it was said catnap is the only obstacle to the prototype so chapter 4 will be a fight with the boxy boo prototype there is a chance that he is a heretic or killed Catnap or prototype
@@alexisruiz5144 Actually, we did not already know that. In fact, it's almost definitely disproven, as Project Playtime has employees that are still alive, when the Hour of Joy killed every single employee. In fact, how would them being in the same continuity even make sense at all with Huggy and Mommy? And where is the game taking place in the base game's continuity?
@@tankbattle178 I think he could have a couple roles: A- not going to appear, and was just a cool thing to show in the hour of joy tape B- appear as part of the prototype, already dead C- be a minor antagonist like Miss Delight D- Actually be a main antagonist (unlikely)
I have no idea why but this tape relaxes me and I watch it before bed... I'm not kidding I don't normally watch this type of thing, but... Idk I might be a psycho
This is very disturbing, imagine the children who were there...my God...the guilty..innocent..children..it doesn't matter everyone died...I do not know what to say
Imagine if you were having a good time at Disney park only for the last thing you saw in your life was mickey's statue in a monstrous state about to bite you.
bro, she literally would've killed us had Poppy not intervened. Yes, Kissy is nice and benevolent, *only if you are innocent and didn't treat the other toys like shit*
well thats whats gonna happen if you trapped a kid and made them a fucking toy, without their consent, while they were probably screaming for help, and even that freedom is taken away from you. Now you can't even scream, resist or anything. What do you epect?@@SirCancerlot
I was in complete utter shock when i saw that many people on the ground lifeless. The Hour of Joy is way worse than i thought it was going to be, I originally thought it was gonna be similar to The Bite of 87 from FNAF but i was so wrong. This incident involves hundreds of people being brutally murdered by the toys regardless if their guilty or not. Mob entertainment really went all out on this chapter and I’m impressed, i can’t wait to see more like this.
1:06 is horrific. The quiet music playing whilst seeing the dead bodies is horrific. Whilst their family is just waiting for them to come home, but just died by getting their body teared is brain tearing. Good job Mob.
Can i jus say this gotta be the most disturbing vhs tape i've ever seen and the saddest, and the fact the innocent where killed makes me more heartbroken. I think im not gonna sleep well after watching this
this might be the most powerful bit of the game for me. its just awful knowing that most of the workers, apart from the scientists, were innocent and this happened to them. and actually watching it happen on the tape with the eery music is extremely disturbing, especially when you see all them corpses everywhere at the end. and it gets even more terrifying when poppy describes the terror all these innocent people went through and how the toys ate the bodies. its really dark and honestly this is the direction the game needs to go down to stand out because this is true disturbing horror. well done mob
Well I’m sure after this investigation would have been ideally but the bodies were dragged under the factory so there wouldn’t be evidence for a full Cory order and I don’t think the police would believe a bunch of life less toys did this so I think it’s safe to say that they just shut down the factory after this (tho most likely due to a lack of workers since they are all dead now)
@@lonelytiger5011lol no way even a single cop died in this factory otherwise, the game wouldn't have occured since the entire national guard would have get involved if police officers couldn't handle the situation. Definitely this entire thing was quickly covered up before the authorities can get involved. The monsters are not immune to getting shot if the flare gun can already scare some of them (smiling critters and catnap's hallucinations)
This scene gives you so many emotions, horror, terror, confusion, ecstacy, bloodlust, satisfaction I don't know whether to call this a tragedy, or poetic justice
this is all the things i understand here: 0:05 normal day working in playtime 0:10 Huggy Wuggy wakes up 0:12 Huggy Wuggy Starts Attacking the employees 0:20 Cuts to Mommy Long legs Attacking the Employees 0:23 Mommy Long Legs holds on to two employees 0:24 Mommy Starts to go up while lifting the employees 0:27 Mommy Drops the employees killing them by the impact on hitting the ground 0:31 The mini Smilling Critters start attacking the employees 0:38 A employee running away from Miss Delight and her sisters. 0:42 The employee enter a room and Miss Delight and her sisters also enters it, wich led her to no escape and getting killed.
The first time I actually cried to a horror game this disturbing and it’s very saddening that you feel like the MC lost everyone he worked and cared about to the monsters that the company you worked for. No one left, the innocent and guilty.
0:17 that one guy in the black suit at the bottom right who ran towards the front door outside must either be the luckiest man ever and/or the most traumatized man ever..
Something that unsettling me the most is that hundred of people in which include the employee, staff, worker, most parent and possibly children were dead on thus days just like what shown on the vhs tape and something that hit me harder is that poppy says most of the bodies were got eaten up just to stay alive or hid them.. chapter 3 lore is just make me wandering my mind and felt the curiosity harder. I wonder what chapter 4 gonna happen sooner or later.
