I live in a nursing home. We made peanut butter fudge. Using peanut butter and vanilla frosting. Nuke in the microwave. Stir together. Then refrigerate. Amazing!!!
As we get older any lemon dessert seems so fancy and decadent. I love lemon, and lemon blueberry anything... makes me feel like I should be having tea with the queen. 😂
Me, too! Lemon curd, Lemon pound cake, Lemon muffins, etc. I don’t recall liking lemon when I was younger as much as I do now. The last couple years I keep asking my husband for a lemon poppy seed cake. This year, I just made my own cake to satisfy my love for all things lemon.
I have made cake with just a box of cake mix and a can of whatever soda we had, I also give them to the food banks with sprinkles, candles, and a cake pan all wrapped together. That makes it shelf stable. A lot of kids that grew up without enough food, this was the only kind of cake they ever got. 💗
Yes, you can use raspberry, blueberry, apple, pumpkin pie filling. I made the same dessert using lemon pie filling and a lemon cake mix for a potluck. It was immediately devoured! I've also used pureed pumpkin with a spice cake mix...added some mini chocolate chips. Delish!
Yes to all of this. I worked in a local university's bakery and we made cookie bars by the thousands. Same basic idea only use the cake mix with butter as the crust, top with pie filling of choice (or chocolate chips etc.) and finally topped with a crumb or streusel topping. Everyone loved them and super easy and cheap.
That lemon bar recipe would be yummy with a small scoop of that ice cream! I can’t get over how much the boys have grown, the teens are so tall standing over you, that’s wonderful’
The pineapple angel food cake (using a one-step angel food cake mix) is an old WW recipe. Easy, simple and calorie, especially if it's topped with low calorie Cool Whip.
To make your cream whip faster put the bowl and attachment in the freezer. We don't use sweetened condensed milk.. we us pudding(vanilla or chocolate) mix pudding with 1 cop of milk then fold in 1 container of cool whip. For more like sherbert add dry jello( small box) hugs love blessings to all.
That last cake I have been making for YEARS.... in the microwave. Tupperware used to make a containner that went in the miicrowave called a "Rock N Serve" (It's now called "Vent N Serve) that was great for thhat 2 ingredient bundt cake. Cake mix, 12 ounces of soda, into the container similar to a bundt pan (although ANY round microiwave safe containner and a shot glass works just as well) and 7 minutes later you had a cake. Let it cool 10 minutes and tip it out onto a plate then let cool completely and frost (if desired).
If you like pineapple try using a box of angel food cake and a can of crushed pineapples. It was a big hit with my family. I also did a slight variation using whipped cream (or cool whip whichever you prefer) and shredded coconut as a topping.
Thanks so much for making these videos. I'm disabled and just can't risk making a bunch of random recipes that might fail. Seeing you try them with success or added tips makes me willing to try them.
Thank you for showing how to make the lemon bars. When I do it, I’ll put the lemon filling in a large bowl and gradually pour in the angel cake mix, maybe a cup or less at a time, stir, then add more cake mix. 😂😂. I like the idea of making the ice cream, but my frugal side would buy a 1/2 gal of ice cream on sale for $1.99 in whatever flavor we wanted. I know the heavy whipping cream costs more than that and the condensed milk is also spendy. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
My son came up with the idea to add a can of pureed pumpkin to a box spice cake around Thanksgiving last year. The texture was too thick for cake so I decided to try cookies. I baked them at 350 for 12 minutes. We got 3.5 dozen and they barely made a day before all the cakeies were gone. They were pillowey and moist and absolutely delicious!
I cheat and use cool whip, instead of heavy whipping cream! If you freeze your bowl ,beaters, and super cold heavy whipping cream, youll get stiff peaks faster!!Less calories and cheaper!! You can add any flavorings you like, vanilla cocoa powder, coffee or espresso , can also add candies, nuts chocolate chips, etc. whatever flavorings you like!!
You can put swirls of crushed red berries in the icecream, crushed cookies, chocolate swirls, chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and so on. Or make it flavored with some fruit puree.
Brooke your hair is 🔥 Love the curls. Ryder face when you talked about the raspberry pie filling 😂 and then sweet lil Kylen's after tasting the ice cream. 😊❤
This was an interesting vlog. I enjoyed it. I also want to say your boys are really nice looking and I enjoy seeing them try out your new recipes. Barbara.
I’ve made the lemon cake before. We liked it. I used to make a microwave chocolate cake with Coca-Cola or Dr Pepper. It’s was a Tupperware recipe for a round dish with a convex middle. I box cake mix, 12 oz. Soda, and chocolate chips for frosting. It was alright. Made a fun demonstration. 😁
Coke Cake isn’t a Tupperware Recipe, it’s a southern recipe along with the Coke A Cola icing that’s been around forever! The 2 ingredient cake mix and the pop cake has been around forever as well! You can use any cake mix and soda pop you pretty much want, just like the jell-o and pudding and poke cake, it’s recommended you take a tub of cool whip you thaw to icing the cake but, you can icing it to how you desire.
My favorite 2 ingredient cake is crushed pineapple mixed with an angel food cake. Bake in an angel food cake pan or even a 9x13 cake pan. I’m definitely going to try the lemon bars.
I think that making a little glaze for that Orange Fanta cake using a little powdered sugar and a little bit of the soda would be amazing. It might be one of those cakes that you have to cool completely maybe even refrigerate before turning it out. I think all of the recipes were great and we make the ice cream all the time and we add a splash of vanilla ( a little vanilla paste or vanilla bean would also work beautifully)!😊
Take the Orange Creamsicle cake and add a large can of peaches, drained and roughly cut, into the bottom of the cake dish. Pour the cake and soda mixture over the peaches, sprinkle cinnamon over it and add a stick of cubed butter on top. Bake it until the cake is cooked through, about 30-35 minutes. You’ll have Boy Scout Cobbler. You can do the same thing with chocolate cake mix and canned cherry pie filling.
All you need for homemade Frostys is heavy cream chocolate milk and cool whip and sweetened condensed milk.I know it's 4 ingredients but I promise I have made it and it is super close. We used a ice-cream maker but you could probably just pop it in the freezer and check on it every little bit until it was the right consistency. God bless you all.
Wow, Bestie! Those were some very great and frugal ideas. Thank you for sharing, Brooke. I hope you are all having a blast🚀 on your vacation and you will find more uranium glass. Be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo
We do a quickie cream that is really good. You do need an ice cream maker tho.....It's a container of cool whip, a can of condensed milk, and a 2 liter orange drink....You pour these in this order into the chamber....let it mix and freeze...when done it tastes like an orange push up pop. We make it using different fruit flavors and it's a hit. cheap and quick!!!
I’d like to you try Nicecream Slice a couple bananas and freeze it . Put in a blender with liquid of choice ( milk or substitute, creamer , chocolate milk, even water . It only takes a small amount start with maybe 1/4 a cup for 2 bananas then add drops til you like the consistency! If you more than just that add ins are endless ! We like to make magic shell (chocolate chips melted with coconut oil), or strawberry.
While it's not exactly 2-ingredients (box mix I had would call for pantry staples like egg, butter, milk), I have been using those brownie box mix + cream cheese to make brownie cheesecake. Cocoa powder has gone up in price and chocolate pastries would call for about 2/3 cup of that stuff, so I figured this would be a lot cheaper option than if I was to make it from scratch.
You can also do the soda cake in a microwaveable bowl or pan and cook it in the microwave. I am a Tupperware rep and I make them at most my parties! The Biggest hit so far has been a devils food cake with a strawberry soda (I like strawberry cream dr pepper)
I just love your interactions with you and your boys. ❤ Thank you for raising such gentlemen and future men of our country. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
My Mother-in-law Switched her Homemade Ice Cream & Added a Can of Eagle Brand Milk with less Sugar but we still used the Ice Cream Churn. It was much better that way.
Not sure but it takes me 5 min in my mixer to make wiped cream. I've made this ice cream for my kids only I added blueberries & sometimes heath bar bits. My kids luv this.
15:52 17:26 the creamsickle cake is really good to put it in a 9x12 sheet pan then after baking it mix up a small packet of orange Jello. Poke the cake all over with the back of a wooden spoon or a chop stick. Pour the jello all over the cake filling the holes. Open a can of Mandarin oranges and drain it. Open a tub of cool whip and cover the top of the cake then place the Mandarin oranges on top of the cake. Slice and enjoy!😊BTW I love your channel ❣️
No, a soda cake would not hold up with the liquid jell-o , you make cake the regular way in order to make a poke cake and, it doesn’t matter what you use to poke holes in your cake, as long as you poke the holes in it! Yrs ago in the 70s when, the pudding and, jell-o poke cake recipe came out, they showed and, told you to use the end of a wooden spoon!
They all looked yum but yes the 1st one can make so many flavors strawberry blueberry pumpkin lemon rasp. ect i'm excited to try that one. and put some froting or powdered sugar on top or even whip cream and fresh berries depending on what flavor you do.
I bet it would be even better with a little glaze on top, but then it wouldn't be a 2 ingredient dessert. 😂 I live for dessert!!😊 Another awesome video Brooke!!❤❤❤ I'm talking about the first dessert btw.
Cherry Chocolate Surprise my sister created in the early 80s and won second place in a cooking magazine contest. All it is ,is prepared Black Cherry jello and equal amounts of chocolate ice cream blended in a blender until smooth. Then refrigerate until set.
I've made tons of cakes using a can of sprite only. I love the softness of it. I would enjoy a video of you making your version of the cake with the 🥚 also
Hi Brooke!!❤❤ In the last one, the orange cake I would have added only 8 oz of the soda and perhaps 1 egg. Vanilla in the ice cream. I've made the ice cream before. Love your channel!!! Love your boys...they are growing up so fast!!! ❤❤❤❤
For the last cake, try adding aquafaba (water leftover from chickpeas, which you can either soak fresh peas or used canned) or a mashed banana. There are other binders available, too.
I think any add ins for the ice cream would be great, the 1st one you could use any pie filling and it would be good, the soda one I wouldn’t add as much soda as it calls for and maybe add a egg. I would also spray your Bundt cake pan with bakers joy. I don’t use bakers joy I make my own using oil, shortening, and flour
