i like how Galinda mentions being good at sports as a way to be popular because in my elementary school pretty much all the athletic girls were popular
True enough. That's the one problem. What really sealed the deal in that comparison was the "ooh!" in the first bit of the first verse and the way she squeaked out "you're welcome" for Pinkie, but the rest is Rarity all the way.
UnbirthXXI well i realize that but im saying it it looks like rose as if she were younger. its not cannon and i'm not taking this on the dumb assumption she was ever younger than pictured everywhere is pops up
I love how their friendship evolves from loathing each other, to Glinda accidentally doing something nice for Elphaba, to Elphaba getting Glinda that cool wand, to Glinda feeling like an ass and realizing how nice Elphaba is, to Glinda helping with Elphaba's social status and self esteem
Kenny McCormick & Mareike Beilschmidt: Bi, actually. Remember Fiyero & the book's Son of a Witch sequel with ElphieXFiyero son, Liir and his & his convent wife Candle's green-tinged daughter Rain?
Lapis and Peridot? Mmm. . . maybe. . . . I don't think it would be QUITE as high pitched, though. They could change it a lot, such as like with Opal. (Amethyst + Pearl)
This is as enjoyable as the musical itself! Reminds me of when my friends and I would reenact this. I would always be Elphaba and she would always be Galinda. Fun times.
Em_The_ Zombie i knew the song by mika before i knw about the musical wicked, though when i found the song i wasnt fangirling the broadway fandoms yet lol
Awkweird, since Rose is Steven's "mom" and Connie is Steven's girlfriend. Elphie may have had Liir with Fiyero before she and he were both done away with (Fiyero in battle & Elphie MELTING FOR REAL in the book [No "Happy Ending" reincarnation here folks, that's exclusive to the musical that sort of Disney-fied things]), but it was suspect that Galinda not-so-secretly crushed on Elphie and Elphie kinda of returned the gesture (they even kissed ON THE MOUTH before they were forcibly separated due to the guards closing in on them), until the Vinkus (Winkie is an enslavement term) prince - himself a literal diamond stud in the book - came between them.
I just want to say that I adore this, and your other Wicked animatic. The art style is incredible, and I love the way Elphaba's hair is drawn. Not only that, but the choices that were made in your depictions of the characters are great, I love the differing body types, I've never really seen any other Wicked animatic make that choice, and it works out incredibly here! The drawings fit the characters voices, and overall this looks amazing!
WHY HAVENT I SEEN THIS BEFORE?! The characters are so nice and interesting to look at! And it's actually nice to see Galinda to be presented nicely! Alot of people make her mean and vindictive, but in this storyboard she just seems nice and just determined to help a friend!
They do. ON THE MOUTH. It happens before what would be the book's _Defying Gravity_ moment during which (or WITCH in this case, heh) Elphie tells Galinda that she's ALWAYS loved her, despite their initial "loathing" that was disguising their SEXUAL TENSION. In the book, when they roomed together at Shiz University since Elphie had no room of her own and Galinda "accidentally" offered her services, they had to SHARE THE SAME BED. Galinda practically STRADDLED Elphie at points.
Geez, Galinda is like Pearl in Rose's body. Essentially the human version of Rainbow version. And Elphaba like Garnet and Lapis Lazuli (with a smidge of Peridot).
