Russell is one of the few people who posesses the ability to have an honest, respectful and insightful conversation with literally ANYONE regardless of their beliefs and political views. It's so powerful. This is the type of human interactions we need a lot more of in this world.

@jamiets19 Much of the evidence she presented was questionable at best if not empirically false. He handled himself well, but he should have focused more on trade unions and the like in terms of community. Perhaps he will, I'm only 48 minutes in.

Yes, he does and his sincerity is obvious and I have striven for many years to get to this point and I kinda am worried I wont because as soon as she grins with admiration when Jordan Peterson is mentioned- I feel some anger beginning to rise...Namaste Z (after listening- she is naive and I am with him- anarchy, Russell and I have been around longer...) IS SHE A TEACHER, LORD HELP ANY STUDENT WHO DISAGREES WITH HER- A GOOD TEACHER ALLOWS FOR DISAGREEMENT AS LONG AS YOU CAN BACK UP YOUR ARGUMENT. MAYBE IT IS ME TODAY, I HAD A BAD DAY YESTERDAY, A DAY Candace wouldn't allow for-- mental illness to her is laziness probably, she is getting under my skin, I have a feeling she isn't very compassionate, Jordan Peterson "fell", his vulnerability became apparent but he owned up to it- I don't feel she is using her power for the good at all... she IS a teacher- bull, black people have been and are victimized (I am not black), sorry she has lost me...I guess I will check out one of her beloved monopolies, Amazon and see what she has written, cringe....

It seems like they agree about how a Utopia should exist generally, but they just can't find common ground leading to it. Candace Owens seems willfully ignorant several times here, though. She also contradicts herself quite obviously and often, even though she is technically honest, considering each claim separately. Russell showed a beautiful example of patience and tenacity in this podcast/interview. P.S. I think they're both wrong about god(s).

Conversational debate opens the door to first, state your opinion not tell the adversary they are wrong. Secondly, to find common ground and possibly change the view of your opponent. Then leave the debate still friends. That no longer exists in most people and definitely has no existence in politics!

Candace is too smart and strong that she lacks empathy. She doesn’t understand that not everyone can be smart, mentally strong, driven and solve their own problems like her, not everyone have parents and community that can guide or support them. I do agree with her that anyone who works hard can improve their life but at the same time those who are in the lower rung of society are working hard but their earnings cannot get them out of poverty or afford them better opportunities. I enjoy her strength and find her very motivational but I agree with you, not everyone has the drive, the circumstances or the ability to gain success. Hard work does not automatically reward that, for example I work extremely hard since I was 15, I am now 45 I have never been successful, I have never had wealth, my spouse(s) through out my life (males) have always made 3 to 5 times more than me, even though I'm considered a "professional", and if I was single I would be living on the poverty line.

Russel, the worst thing you can do to a child is with compassion as you define it. The best you can do for them is give them courage to compete. You do no good for a child to over protect them, and it is worse for society. I think that’s Candace’s point. The government has told the black community, “you’ve been oppressed so we will take care of you. You don’t have to compete in society (because you are too far behind)! If the black community has any problem, and they do), it is in lack of expectations, both in themselves and both parties.

Humm being older than both of you and growing up with no parents and a drug/alcohol family background. From the age of 2yrs I remember all that happened. I went to a foster home. I was 2. I don't remember anything before that, but I remember entering that house and everything thereafter. I never knew my mother and my father would visit me 5 times from my age of 9 til 16 when he suddenly died. I left my home town at 18 when the system released me. I grew up in a strange world of mental anguish and being denied when others got favor. Let me explain this I grew up in a foster home where I was a small means of support for a family that needed to make ends meet for their children and their mortgage. I suffered no physical abuse. They were not bad people they were just making ends meet through the check they got for keeping a foster child. And I lived in a nice neighborhood. But I was ALWAYS on the outside looking in. I was small, extremely thin and always depressed. Yes they fed me but I never had much of an appetite. I also was not smart. I grew up at the end of the illegitimate era and the stigma that comes with that. I watched for the 16yrs I was in that foster home all the favor children received from their parents in the neighborhood and didn't really appreciate it. I had to fight envy, jealousy, hate and despair from an early age. I was treated like a nobody and given no love. I was just there. I was often told " you'll be just like your parents." That statement confused me cause I didn't know my parents. If I had any talent or wanted to learn something to better myself for the future it was ignored at home and at school. Everyone knew I was an orphan and no one cared. I was just there. I saw so much, I learned so much that made me angry as I grew up. But I had faith, I had GOD. Eventually I took the negative and turned it positive through GOD's guidance and learned how to survive and be stronger for myself by the time I was 27 and far away from where I grew up. Coming off of homelessness then welfare. To go to job training and getting a job which I worked for 28yrs. It was the anger and being denied and being told what I would be that drove me to finally change my life. Never liked drugs or alcohol thank GOD. And when I dumped going no where people out of my life I finally went somewhere.

I think we could all do with branching outside of our social media echo-chambers to listen to other perspectives.

There is a Buddhist phrase or teaching, I believe, that says holding on to rage and hate is like holding onto a hot rock, waiting to throw it at the person or thing that you hate or are angry at. Holding onto it, the longer you do, it harms you , it burns you, and it does nothing to the person you're hating or angry at. And eventually, when the perfect opportunity to throw it comes along, it's not hot anymore and your hand is so scarred and in so much pain that you are likely to miss. I've always loved that one. I’ve only watched half of the podcast at this point but, I believe in the power of the individual but it took me years to find my own strength. I became unemployed when my kids were young and I started receiving food stamps. For several years I was employed on and off always ending up back on government assistance. It wasn’t until a new government policy threatened to revoked my ability to renew my food stamps unless I actively sought gainful employment. The requirements were similar to those of unemployment where I had to provide the contact information where I applied for jobs and the outlets I used to do so. It was a full time job seeking a job. It was such a successful program that I actually found employment and have been off government assistance ever since. With that said, had I not been forced into it, I would not have believed I could do it. I did need the government help, but I become dependent on it and developed a mindset that I wouldn’t be able to survive without it. It was a necessity, but it needed to be a limited time frame for me.

The only thing I'm upset about is Candace not recognizing Trump as an obvious grifter. When a bully exposes other bullies he's jockeying for position, He's not hoping to to dismantle the system that keeps him in elite power. We needed Trump to help expose the BS to more people. But Trump, along with almost all politicians on both sides, is NOT the people's friend. I feel like Candace should know that he wasn't even mildly attempting to bust up google or facebook or amazon. @defearian
@defearian 2 года назад
If you ask her, she overcame nothing or at least nothing that was because of being born black. I think it's great that she doesn't want to be seen as a victim and on an individual basis many black folks have overcome their struggles in life and are longer victims of the circumstances they were born into, however it is her denial of the fact that blacks as an ethnic group are largely still victims of the lingering consequences of having been slaves and considered the lowest of the low. The fact that she had to overcome anything says she was a victim of what she had to overcome and it was because she was born into a black family. This is typical, they fight tooth and nail to get where they are and make sure everyone knows it, but then when the next guy says there is still a struggle for blacks, its him being racist. She lives in her own reality. And her narrative has changed since Trump. She says whatever those she thinks is winning want to hear. I think she hates Black people she hates her self and she is typical of every sellout that has ever existed. If I made it, made it through struggles and now it no longer exists for me then it simply doesn't exist for anyone. It is elitest and willfully ignorant.

Sorry but he's well known for name calling and acting out irrationally. I can only assume as he gets older his money prospects are drying up so he's doing whatever he has to make a buck. He went on a complete rabid left world tour after trump was elected. Which was stupid because he doesn't live in the U.S. It tanked him. He lost a lot of fans. I'm not buying this attempt to be neutral all the sudden.

It’s not just black women in the system that are incentivized to be single mothers living off the system. I was a white single mother receiving government aid while working 6 days a week to support myself and my daughter. The moment I got remarried, all of the aid that I had received came to a halt, even though our combined income was lower than what mine had been as a single mom receiving aid. Fast forward a few years, I was encouraged to “get a divorce on paper” so that I could receive benefits again in order to get the added support needed. Women in general are encouraged to be single mothers, and they’re incentivized by the great amount of aid given to single mothers only.

Eric Dively First off she’s not a independent. She’s a self identifying conservative who is a avid Trump supporter who is a member of the RNC. Candace doesn’t have any original thoughts of her own. She simply spews common conservative talking points with know depth to explain why her new ideology is superior to her past support of progressive principles. She’s never debated anybody formidable in politics; instead she challenges celebrities who most likely don’t study these subjects. A couple years ago she ran a liberal website and was anti Trump. Her original career path was to become a actor. She created a website where people could be doxed. She sued the school corporation because her ex boyfriend and friends said mean things to her over the phone. I could go on if you don’t get the point.

People scream when they speak only with those who are of the same opinion and then, once in a blue moon, they speak with somebody who has a different opinion. They have no idea how to use logic to support their arguments. People where I live sit around drinking beer and trashing Trump. Some young people spoke about how blind and biased their parents are. One said her parents just say: orange man bad! Tey were sitting around or, like Nancy Pelosi, dancing and celebrating how stupid they think Trump is when he pulled one on them.
