I'm from Corpus and I got to see Jesse and his guest band Los Chachos like 3 months ago at Tequila Rose.Awsome performance from both,especially when Jesse sang Quiero Qonocerte with Los Chachos...good old good times. R.I.P. Chacha..Keep on Jamming Jesse, your the best!
Chacha, Jesse Serrata and the band, Oscar Hernandez in this band were just awesome. i know it , I live it, saw them, played together with them. Oscar alone was an icon himself. RIP Chacha , my brother, my friend... sluggo
whoa totally amazing...these guys were stars wheather they new it or not, this was quite the ensemble. movies are made from talents like these. Rest in Peace Cha Cha and Jesse and to the others here, thank you all for sharing selflessly your talents.
I love this old Tejano music. It what I listen to all the time and my friends being 17 like I am say I'm crazy to listen to it. But this is what music is, not this stuff that come out nowadays.

I had the pleasure to accompany Chacha with the drums a few years before he died I think it was at the Weslaco Community Center I remember Rogelio Botello Rios was there too for those who don't know who Rogelio was he worked at KGBT radio for many years.... I was playing with Pepe Hernadez and his group at the time.The Great bands of Valley.

These guys have music in there hearts.... more or less knowing they would not be filthy rich.... they did it because it gave them purpose and a certain peace inside knowing that we Tejanos will always cherish and love these hits... and so many good dances in south Texas... that is where a lot of us met our wives and wives met their husbands.... bad ass vato....

So this guy moves in next to me. He sees a guitar in my house, and he asked to see it, the guitar doesn’t even have all the strings but he rocked it. It was ChaCha’s brother Tony Jimenez. He could harmonize and sing beautiful.

Download from here!...I call it Popurri Tejano, performed by Tuff Band....I originally recorded it, as is, from the Johnny Canales Show, that would be shown on TV, during the 80's/early 90's. The initial recording was on VHS, subsequently converted it to DVD, before the upload to RU-vid. I may be the only one who has it, but would have no issues with anyone making copies for their enjoyment.....Best regards.
