Single strand knots for me are a single stand of hair knotting itself so towards the end of that strand there is a tiny knot, no shed hair included. How do I stop this, my hair is stretched or in a protective style most of that time to minimise this
I noticed that I get lot less of them when I wash and deep condition at least one a week. I think they are an unavoidable reality of having kinky curly hair.
You need a professional hair trim (cut) every 8-10 weeks. Let the ends go. It will also save you time detangling ... I used to have the same issue till I started getting proper hair cuts
@@Anna-os3sd Hi Anna, thanks for this but for me they seem to occur more frequently then that. I regularly trim (however on blown out hair and am due a straitening) and as I said my hair is stretched, moisturised and in protective styles 80% of the time.
There is way too much misinformation regarding natural hair. Single strand knots are literally just that! A single strand will knot itself, normally towards the end of the strand. Shed hair gets caught in the hair and creates tangles. These are 2 different situations.
