Hi Everyone! We are glad we decided to send this episode unedited. Such fun! For all who are asking, we have done some research and it looks like buttermilk is indeed the equivalent to Norwegian sour milk
Oh my sweet Jesus - this was the funniest cooking-video I have ever seen. Arne, you are precious. I am sure I speak for all of us folloers when i say WE 💖 YOU.
You know Arne is in trouble when Carlos starts speaking Norwegian to him. You are both so funny!! Thank you for your wonderful videos. They make me laugh out loud and bring me joy.
The drama! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Arne's verdict on the cold porridge - Will He Like it or Not?? Meanwhile, you two are hilarious first thing in the morning: "that's a bread knife!" .... "I don't think the pear knows the difference." "I might finish your knitting before you finish those pears.""I seriously hope you didn't cough on my pears." 🤣🤣 So glad you didn't edit all that out. This was a great start to a Sunday, and of course I had porridge for breakfast in your honour - with cashew butter, apples & ginger.
I laughed so much watching this. Blended nuts, screaming pears, peeling coconuts... Arne is so funny, especially early in the morning looks like. You guys should do more cooking videos. Now I know why the video is 42 minutes.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I first started watching you, I thought Arne was so shy and quiet. He hardly spoke. The more I watch, the more I see the wicked sense of humour he has! Arne, I love you! You make me laugh!!
I laughed so much through this video at your conversation. Then Arne sneaks back and eats what he really wants. Hilarious! I think quarantine has made everyone a little loopy. We have to have little treats and find joy in the simple things so enjoy your croissants once in a while.
Please, Arne, never apologize for your mastery of English. I have lived in 5 different countries and still can speak only English. Thankfully, my adult children speak two-three languages. Be proud of your English. Your English is fine; you are improving in every video. You are delightful and charming. 💕
Just when I thought he had converted....I love the excitment of porridge gate. I laughed and laughed particularly at the end. Thank you for being yourselves and sharing this saga. Take care.
Thank you both so much, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Quite unwittingly it was comedy gold. My own porridge went cold this morning as I couldn't stop laughing while I was trying to eat it and watch this episode at the same time. Carlos...you have the patience of a saint. But Arne...I love your quiet, subversive nature in making the breakfast you wanted all along. 🤣🤣🤣
This is hilarious! "Did you cough on the pears?" Brilliant! And Arne laughing so much, and no, he didn't cough on the pears....! This is SO entertaining. And Carlos speaking in native tongue because he couldn't believe what he was being part of! I love you two. 💖💖
As a child my mother had to eat oatmeal porridge every morning. She hatet it and swore that her children never had to eat it and..we never did. At school (very modern) we had cooking lessons once a week. Just learning to cook basic stuff and one of the basic stuff we had to learn was making oatmeal porridge. I loved it and my mother was in shock!
“Did you cough on the pears?!?!” 😂 Arne we know you didn’t!! I laughed the most when Arne was laughing and said “oh I thought you liked it” when Carlos was just trying to not burn his mouth.
Oh my gosh, I’m still laughing! This episode ranks up there as one of my favorites. You both oftentimes are funny without even trying - that’s what makes watching you so enjoyable. I’ll never make oatmeal/porridge again without thinking of you two! Lastly, please know that we truly appreciate you opening your home to us and letting us see how life is for you in Norway. I’ve learned so much. Thanks! ❤️
Giving the simple and beautiful gift of yourselves, each week, It is an honor to receive such a precious gift. My gratitude to all three of you and anyone else backstage besides your inspired cameraman.
This was so funny and I also felt very sorry for poor Arne. He was given the cold porridge he hated whilst Carlos and Eric had the delicious hot porridge he liked. You are so lovely Arne, showing good humour no matter what. I hope if you have to eat porridge that you get the lovely hot one. We love you both 😘😘🦉
We absolutely loved this episode, and so glad you didn't edit out all the "good" parts. My Norwegian father liked bread with milk. Laughed a lot, and enjoyed it all.
What an hilarious episode, I’m literally crying 😂😂. Wednesday and Sunday times spent watching you two are just so special. Arne, you’re so funny and just like a naughty little boy sometimes ...... just love you for it ❤️❤️ Carlos, love you too ❤️❤️ and thanks for some new breakfast ideas, will have to try them xx
Absolutely hilarious. You two are priceless. Arne you are so funny, brilliant sense of humour and all the while Carlos being grumpy and telling Arne off for coughing on the pears and Arne just giggles through it all. I've got tears pouring down my cheeks watching you two. How come Eric can keep the camera so still? Is he not laughing his head off? And how do you get him to come round to your house so early when Carlos is so grumpy!! Please don't stop doing what you're doing. You're a ray of sunshine in my days xxx
This is an amazing episode and I enjoyed myself watching Arne acting funny. The best part was Arne's real breakfast eaten stealthily. Carlos, you are so meticulous in your work! I am going to try the warm porridge with pears in salted caramel sauce. Thanks for the recipe.
Arne, you say yr “bad” with cooking but outstanding with knitting!YES-Arne, you’ll learn for you ! And us will be help for you - or ?? - great to learn!
Did you cough on the pears ?!? Hilarious ! This really put a smile on my face watching you two characters ! And then Arne gets his “real breakfast” like I’ve said in the past, you’re both adorable.
Hilarious! So loved this episode and what a cliffhanger!! Will Porridgegate ever be resolved? The tension!! You could cut it with a bread knife.... Thank you so much for brightening our lives xx
You two are hilarious! I love the banter. That mattered so much more than the porridge to be honest, interesting though that was. Arne is a natural comedian always and it is so good to see Carlos a little more off guard, shall we say, and showing more of that side of himself. This is one of your best videos ever! Thank you so much. This is one I shall come back to again and again, I am sure!
Oh my. I laughed so hard when Arne said " theres no space"..my fridge is the same...always full. Lol but this porridgegate is still a bit confusing to me....does Arne not like porridge? Or does he like just warm porridge? I'm certainly wondering now...hmmmmmm and Arne you are just hilarious....made my morning so fun today.
I ate my breakfast porridge while watching this. Arne & Carlos have great banter and sense of humor. I had to go back to see if Arne coughed on the pears, he didn't. LOL
This was the best cooking video I have ever seen. I laughed so hard! Arne you crack me up and poor Carlos was trying so hard to get it all done! The two of you are relationship goals! Your love and respect for each other shines through in all your videos!
I would give this 100 👍🏻 if I could! I’m so glad that you didn’t edit this video, Arne is so funny, I laughed so much when he was chopping the pears 🔪🍐 I hope that Carlos is getting stronger in the rehabilitation hospital. Best wishes from Wales 🏴
Guys I would never have thought that making porridge could be so hilariously funny. I have laughed and laughed so much. Thank you for such an honest podcast. Arne you may not be able to peel pears very well but you have a fantastic sense of humour. Carlos I love your vegan porridge. Yum! Thank you guys for a good 40 minutes. Lol Jacqui UK.
This was just the tonic I needed this morning ! I was feeling a bit blue so I watched the episode on making tinsel and am busy making that while I watched . Thank you for cheering me up ! I vote for the warm porridge for me...lol have a wonderful Sunday, see you Wed...
This was absolutle hilarious!! You guys are brilliant, love the bickering about the pear-cutting/coughing. I loved every minute of this PorridgeGate episode x
Finally!!! This was so freaking hilarious! Jag också undrar ibland hur i helskottas länge det kan ta att göra någon "enkel" grej i köket... And then he comes with veggies cut in exactly identical pieces! I love it how Arne is giggling while Carlos is giving him "the eye"... You two are so adorable!!! :D
Fantastic. My husband and I sit and watch you at lunchtime together and we both cry with laughter at the comedy duo that is Arne and Carlos. You guys are so cute together and we really look forward to your videos. Much love from the UK XXXX
Loved this episode. It made me laugh and we all need some humour in our day. You could tell Erik was laughing when you said something in Norwegian! I like your kitchen too! Take care from the Land of Maple Syrup..Canada...mmmm ❤️ 🇨🇦
After blending you threw away the nuts! Oh! The waste! They would have been great added to cookies or a cake or put back into the oat mixture. Love your cups, saucers and bowls....who are they made by and what is the pattern called? Thanks guys xxx
Absolutely fantastic video. Laugh out loud best bit at end when Arne did his breakfast. But the pear porridge is going on my breakfast list along with waffles and brown cheese
Oh my gosh, I’m hooked. Did I just watch 45 minutes of oatmeal porridge? I only like porridge warm so I’m with Arne. I also don’t like the slipperiness of pears but will tempt the Carmel pear deliciousness. Yes I find porridge becomes almost a desert sometimes when I am finished. 😂 I know this videos are from some time ago, but i they are still relevant and the whole world should take the time to see them. ❤
This is the funniest episode of you guys. You made me laugh so much. I am like Arne cooking....not an expert and I enjoyed so much his sense of humour! Thanks for cheering me up!
Okay, this was one of your funniest videos ever! I haven't knit my pothos square yet; I was charmed by the many pothos vines thriving in your kitchen. Question: Arne just tossed the left-over almonds in the compost. Is all the nutrition leached out in the almond milk? Or could you sir the remaining almond mush into muffins, or something? Anyway, lovely video. I'll probably watch this one again, maybe over oats with sautéed pears..
I was also giggling and my s .o. wanted to know what was funny. “There’s two guys making oatmeal for 42 minutes” “and you’re watching that?” “Yeah. One of them says the pear won’t know it’s a bread knife”. He shrugged. gave up on me....
Happy Sunday, Arne & Carlos! Hahahahaha... I didn’t realize that when I came up with the title “Porridge Gate” back in spring for your dilemmas over the breakfast ritual, that it would turn into this long-standing Saga in your household. I absolutely love Overnight Oats with berries & sliced almonds in the mornings. I make it a bit thicker rather than runny. ~sending you beautiful Florida sunshine your way~~
One of your funniest episodes, yet! It was great to see how you worked together in the kitchen... I laughed til I cried. Please do more cooking videos with no editing.
Somehow I don't think Porridgegate is resolved. This might need to be decided in The Hague. Try my oatmeal recipe: Swedish style oatmeal (50% rolled oats and 50% finely ground oatmeal) When this is cooked it is so creamy it tastes like heavy cream has been added. I top it with sauteed apples with cinnamon and a scrape of nutmeg (cardamom opt.) Garnish with some chopped walnuts and or pecans and it is wonderful. Cranberries or lingonberries are a nice addition too. Note: You can saute the Apple and or pear in coconut oil or butter or a little orange juice. Try it. Even people who hate oatmeal like this recipe.
Just loved this video, Carlos, you an make me porridge any time, either the hot or the cold. I had porridge this morning but it never looked anywhere near as good as yours.
We're going a little "cre cre" over here for a lot of reasons so your very funny video about oatmeal & knives & sneaking around the kitchen at the end was most welcome! Best wishes from Gloucester, MA. :)
I love your tutorials but after this more cooking videos please. Never knew making porridge could be so much fun. Cried with laughter. Carlos your face is so funny when Arne starts to laugh and especially cough!!!! Best ever.
