Porsche 356 Tune-up Part1 Setting Valve Clearance! 

Hi All! This is the first of a three-part series on how to perform a Tune Up on your Porsche 356. The Tune sequence is Valves, then electrical and timing, and then carburetor tuning. In this video, we set the valves. It is a straight forward process, but can be a bit fiddly. I’ll run you through everything you’ll need to get through it pretty quickly. After this video Part 2 will be the electrical tune-up - points, and plugs.
Our car is a 1958 Porsche 356A T2 Normal Cabriolet, but this general method can be used on 356s and air cooled VWs.
Tools:
• Feeler gauges: .004 and .006 inch
• 13mm or 14mm box wrench
• Stubby screwdriver
• Large Plastic Handel Screwdriver
• 36mm socket or adjustable wrench
• Valve cover gaskets (or re-use your existing): SMC.104.951.00
• Shop towels
• Grease
