It's all fun till your foot slips off the clutch and you wreck a piece of legendary history, and likely wipe out a couple more parked. When handling, working, with artifacts, ELIMINATE ALL RISK of any kind. Take EVERY precaution available to minimize risk.

It’s clear that James Dean didn’t have a chance driving that. He took the brunt of the crash and there was little to nothing to protect him from being killed.

James Dean died because he was an irresponsible person who had no respect for his life ... that simple ... any car is a deadly trap in inexperienced hands.

all race cars of the era were "death traps". dean's accident had nothing to do with the type of car he was driving.

@@Ecosse57 That's not completely true. Granted, the accident was not Dean's fault but one contributing factor was it was a small car and harder to see. It also offered no protection in a collision
