You can tell Porsche still truly cares about enthusiasts... It's what has kept them together thus far. People have been asking for a manual transmission GT3 or GT3 RS of this generation and while this is not exactly that, it may even be better. A manual transmission GT3 RS with less downforce which probably means more oversteer. I still have faith in you Porsche.. Continue to impress and you will continue to be respected as a leader in the automotive world.

I had never been a Porsche fan, but after listening Andreas and seeing how much passion He and Porsche had put in to this machine - I am converted.

Not only does he know Porsche's but he knows what true car guys want. Simply beautiful.

He isn't actually selling the car because they are already sold out, so he's just taking the time to explain his love. I think he spends more time with it than his child. wouldn't we all?

So this is basically a GT3 RS with a proper manual gearbox (like it should've been from the get-go), it doesn't adopt the current styling cues from the 991.2, it was already sold out the moment it became public and still Porsche managed to create all this frenzy. Man, their marketing team is good.

Andreas is what every mechanical engineer can ever wish to be. My dream is to be just like him. It's like his happiness radiates out through his projects. So much love for the cars. He is the most important man in the car world. He even mentions reading the forums. He essentially gathered the team, told them to make a list of what everyone of the cans wanted, and made it better and delivered!!! What a man! Thank you!!!!

Porsche is the perfect example of what can result from pruning and diligence over time.

I am a hardcore BMW fan, but I have to admit this might be the best car in the world! If I had the honor designing a car, this would be it. Period.

This is why Porsche is one of the best manufacturers for sports cars. They don't need to make this car or the GT4 but they have just made two of the best driver's road cars available. I just wish I could afford one of them!

Andreas, you are 'The' beacon of hope in our "New Car World." But when your company decides this 991R will be built in such a limited run, have the 4.0 liter engine from the GT3RS, and ''Exclusively' use lightweight parts such as a magnesium roof, a perspex rear window, and carbon fiber front fenders and hood, this becomes an 'Elitist' car not a 'Purist' car. 911R? - well, yes, the '991R' is back, but it's sold out so how excited should I get? IF the 991.2 GTS is finally considered to be a 'GT car' as you would say.........then the next GTS 'should' be naturally aspirated, have rear wheel steering and similar bodywork 'shape' to this front and back, center lock wheels and as an option, hopefully, this 6 speed manual gearbox, no? I can hope but let's be realistic, ain't gunna happen because the next GTS will have the 3.0 liter turbo.........I'd love to be wrong about that!

I just love these interviews with Preuninger. They're far and few between but easily some of the best automotive content out there. Just such a cool guy making incredible cars.

BMW you watching this? Your not cars are not even in the same league anymore. Porsche is striving for everything that makes drivers want to drive, feel, weight reduction etc. You can't horsepower your way to a great drivers car. Get to work and but quick...

I didn't use to be very interested in Porsches (not exactly a poster car growing up), but the people who make these cars really seem to get it, and I almost feel like they deserve to be rewarded and encouraged to keep doing what they're doing. Some people fear that fun cars won't be made for much longer, but Porsche gives me faith that I shouldn't worry, and that things will keep getting better.

I want it. I can't afford it, but I want it.

I'm a PDK fan and user but still - please, PLEASE keep making these cars Porsche! Put feeling and emotion above all numbers and stick to naturally aspirated engines for those cars. What a hero he is! But please let the customer choose the gearbox when ordering ;-) And evo, superb video!

There are only two things wrong with this car: the limited production run and the mix'n'match stripes. Oh, and the fact I don't have the money to buy one, but that's my problem... Edit: Oh wait, I've just noticed the gearbox is a 6-speed, not 7. Might it be from the old 997 RS 4.0? I doubt a Boxster/Cayman unit could withstand 500PS.

This man is exactly why Porsche is my favorite car brand by far. Knowledge, passion and precision all in one. Porsche knows exactly who their market is and they know who drives their cars. Who gives a shit if it’s slower than the GT3? I just wanna have fun.

Limited to 1000 units, it will cost more than the range-topping GT3 RS. Fucking Porsche. What use to be the standard equipment became the most expensive.
