I had a 1.7 that ran great. Not fast, but great. I believe the 1.8 was introduced for emissions and had a different injection system. Maybe that is why yours is better on carbs.. beautiful car btw and I love them.

Thank you , I'm not sure what the reason for upping the cc , I think I did know once , definitely great cars ,I used to have years ago still on its injection, it was a pig to start and to keep the injection working , these carbs really transform the car , thank you for stopping by 🙂

1973 Porsches never came with 1.8 liter engines. It's either a 1.7 or a 2.0

Check your facts again sir ,from 74 they came as a 1.8 and 2 litre ,the 1.7 having been dropped, this being manufactured in Dec 73 is a 74 model ,

@@therealtoyshop maybe post the correct facts instead of saying 73 with carbs.... 74 with carbs. Get my drift? I've owned quite a few Porsche 914's in fact I'm an admin on a 914 site.
