This is absolutely awesome, Todd. I've never tried this before, but I'd definitely have a go. The last piece of footage showing the result was so cool. When all is said and done, it'll look outstanding when you've completed the entire process with the leather rejuvenation. It's quite amazing what we can purchase for DIY projects these days rather than hand it over to the pricey professionals. Keep up the superb work. Love and respect from Taiwan. Take care.
I love this content. Interiors are more important to me than the exterior, if i had to choose between the two. I wonder how hard it would be to recreate door cards. Make them more sturdy like 90's Japanese cars were. Is your channel monetized? I watch the ads, but will only continue to do so if your channel is monetized. Keep up the great work!
Hi Andy, I did ponder creating a more robust card, wouldn’t be that hard. Yes channel is monetised, doesn’t make enough to pay the petrol, but every bit helps - appreciate the thought :)
It's looking Quite Nice ,,Very impressed with the Holes U Cut in for Speaker holes, How did u go about that chore ?Wow . It looks, factory. Also I have used super glue or Jet to strengthen cardboard, & Learned to use Backing soda as a filler ,to bulk up small voids or tears .Put it on location Dry & then wet with fresh glue to lock up white powder, It worked well for me. The leather Coloring went well ,as you built up the base color slowly, coming back to original appearance. Thanks for sharing a great Video
Another great video. I just saw my driver’s door arm rest is broken. It was suggested I buy the metal reinforced piece to strengthen up the door. Which video did you do to remove the door card?
@@MrToddgibbs saw the supports video. Good job! I’ll need to buy mine, don’t have the tools to bend the metal. If it’s at all possible to show the door card installation so I can see how to remove it, that’d be awesome!
The leather Porsche used originally was decent but not anything particularly special. Nothing like what Connolly was putting in cars. Personally I never really liked the sheen Porsche coated their hides with, because not only does leather look and feel better matte but with age these seats absorb oils and look even more shiny and nasty. The modern leathers we have now to upholster with look and feel much higher quality.
Hi Alexander, I totally agree about the shine, it makes it look cheaper. I can feel the leather isn't very thick and was worried about ripping it. Thanks for your comment
@@MrToddgibbs You are far more resourceful than I am! I can only assist in steering someone in the right direction in terms of factory correct materials, colours, options and yearly changes. Where materials are concerned I just sourced mine in the form of kits from suppliers. Classic9 I would say are the best, they know their stuff 100%. No affiliation! They sell complete and correct factory slivernit carpet kits as well.
