I'm curious, you ever thought about cutting the old bellhousing and new horizontally aswell and try to weld them together (i know its hard to weld Alu but, i migth open a position to relocate the starter at the same time? :D Can i get in touch with you in anyway, have some small questions otherwise.

Hey! Yes I definitely thought about it but decided to go with the way I did , because it just seemed easier cutting the 1.8t tranny and bolting a plate onto it. Plus the parts are more affordable for the 1.8t (clutch, flywheel,starter and slave cylinders etc) compared to the 944 parts so in a long run I'll safe more money on parts🤔🤞 You can also follow me Instagram @yevisworld that's where I also post alot about the build and other things and you can also msg on there too!:D

How do you expect to hit an alignment spec of less than .001" doing it that way? Instead of welding on another plate with studs sticking out of it, why not just drill and tap holes in the plate you've already fixed to the Audi bellhousing? Actually...why did you even bother with that at all. You could've just carefully measured everything off and come up with something in Solidworks and have a machine shop make up the parts using CNC. It would've been a million times cleaner that way!

Hi, The plan is to drill out 4 holes on the big plate and weld them in from the back and the second small plate is going to be used to fill in the .25in gap i have, after test fitting the engine to the torque tube, the shaft is to long so thats where second plate comes in. Also I mentioned in my first video from this build, I never build anything like this before so its like a whole new world for me and lots to learn. Mistakes going to be made and lessons will be learned. As for Machine shop I agree that it would be more "professional" done but it also comes at its price, for example if I measure it incorrectly it would cost me double to get it fixed. Worst case scenario i can always take it to a machine shop later in the future when I'll be getting my engine machined prior to rebuilding it. (Also something I never done before but will have to learn) I never heard of solidworks before I'll have to look into it when I'll have some free time. Thanks for the suggestion.

Love that you show us the progress and the "mistakes" :D You inspire me to do this aswell as soon as im done with my first project car since i also have a slow 924.
