Great clear instructions; restoring my 944 I bought back from the person I sold it to 18 years ago, and this is on the list of many little things to address. Other great videos too :)

I just installed an Only944 seal on my Turbo. It was satisfying to watch you peel your old seal out, and even more satisfying to tug my cracked old seal out and put a spongy new one in. I had previously tried adjusting the hatch pins to get it to open without pounding on the bottom, but couldn't find get it right with the old compressed seal. Now it pops right open, and doesn't rattle when closed. The hardest part of the job was just getting the leaves out from around the hinges.

Nice! I love the Only944 stuff and the approach they take to make these cars better than they were originally. If I didn’t have a gift card for another auto parts vendor at the time, I probably would have gone with the Only944 seal. 😂 This URO is working well so far.

Not gonna lie… I was watching you talk about all the connections and things to remove to install the new seal, and I was groaning a bit. I let out an audible sigh of relief when you just cut the new seal! LOL

Lol! Yeah, I could tell when I touched the rubber grommet for the wiring that it would have crumbled to dust, requiring me to source yet another part, so I opted to cut the seal. No regrets as the seal hasn’t moved a millimeter since being installed. 👍🏼

I’ve established a pattern with my new-to-me 951. I watch one of your videos, go check my car to see if it needs that work (it usually does), then I go look for the parts and add the project to my list! LOL… Thanks again for all these great videos!

I bought a 951 earlier this year and was dismayed to discover a leak in the hatch seal after its first wash. This video got me to buy the Only944 hatch seal and do the replacement myself. It required a lot of elbow grease especially in the top corners, but now I have no leaks and less hatch rattle. Thanks for all the clear instructions you provide.

@NC944er 2 года назад
Nice! Yeah, the hatch seal isn’t too bad to swap out. Glad you got it done! 👍🏼 The quarter window seals on the other hand can be a bit of a pain, especially if the old rubber is particularly dry/hardened. I like the Only944 stuff a lot. I would have gone there for this one and skipped the URO seal if I didn’t have a gift card for RockAuto at the time. 😂

@Cam-pe3nd 2 года назад
@@NC944er Ironically, quarter window service is my next item. I have louvered windows from Car-Bone and need to replace the factory windows. I found a tutorial for removal, but not sure if I can re-use the rubber or need to order new seals.
@NC944er
@NC944er 2 года назад
@@Cam-pe3nd Yeah, you can pop those in and out while reusing the seals, the rubber basically folds over the metal seam in the body panel. They are pretty tight though, so unless the existing rubber is still soft and pliable, I personally would budget for some new seals as that is another known area for potential leaks over time.
@Cam-pe3nd
@Cam-pe3nd 2 года назад
@@NC944er Thanks for all your help! I'll see how far the current quarter window seals will get me, just cuz I'm impatient, but I'll keep an extra vigilant eye for leaks now.

Where did you get the rear trunk interior piece with the “Porsche” on it? It doesn’t seem like it has the hump for the spare tire. I’m looking for something flat since I don’t carry that donut anymore.
@NC944er
@NC944er 2 года назад
That is a Ultimat Black carpet cargo mat from Lloyd Mats - www.lloydmatsstore.com It does have a notch cut for the spare tire and it goes over the factory cargo liner. Their branding license with Porsche recently expired, so I don’t believe they are offering them with the logo any longer.
