I remember watching this on TV as a kid growing up in Canada. I've always loved the 944.

Thank you Magnus for revisiting a glorious moment. Spending so much time at Mosport, it was such a great experience seeing the Porsche Turbo Cup series with Richard Spenard.

Glad to see the coverage on the Turbo Cup car. Amazing cars ! The 930 engine sound mixed in is funny. 😮 The 944 Turbo Cups out of Canada had 4" huge pipe out the back and make a glorious unique sound. Keep it comming Magnus!

I daily drive my ‘88 924S. Love that car.

I love the 944 turbo shape. This turbo cup needs a chin spoiler and wheel fitment to match its performance. I would love to find some 17" aftermarket phone dials for my '87 951. These cars are great stock, but solid mounted suspension, engine and transaxle along with more power, a more aggressive alignment and less weight really makes them feel light on their toes. These old cars are still immensely capable, especially when setup properly for modern tire compounds. Amazing that Magnus was given the opportunity to drive on this track with a turbo cup car. A special car on a special track.

The Ford dealership I worked at in 88-89 had a 944 Turbo Cup S2 in the showroom. Was ultra white with white wheels & a hot pink pinstripe twisted with a lime green pinstripe on both sides. I don't remember it having a roll cage though. That car was so 1980's & in pristine condition.

I own the #10 Turbo Cup. These are such sweethearts to drive. Very easy to go quickly with confidence.

I would daily drive my 944 and would even drive it up skiing in New Hampshire & Vermont in serious snow storms that car was the balls!!! 🏎️

are you shitting me...600lbs??? wow that had to make it a totally different animal.i have always been a 951 fan, i take care of my brothers 993 turbo and my love since 1985 has been RUF Automobil. needless to say im a porsche fanatic much like yourself. what was the majority of that weight. i know glass vs. aluminium isnt a whole lot, ven a fully gutted interior doesnt seem like its 500lbs considering its electronics and using lightweight seats but adding cage and fire suppression as well as whateverother safety requirements. do you have any insight. cheers

Now you need to find the ultra rare 944S2 Club Sport. 7 were built and were better than those turbo Cup cars

THEY WERE NICE BUT 35k was not everyday mans affordable car ,firebirds mustangs Z28s were 16k in 83 and just as fast really with more engine n fuel use but 16k bought lots of fuel in 83 !! ln the eighties l had a thing for 928s due to RISKY BUSINESS AND WEIRD SCIENCE movies :)
