Yea i would of liked to have it. But wasn't a deal breaker since it doesn't add any performance to the car. I can always retro fit it. I am nervous about cutting the leather to make ti fit.
Its not bad. I guess it can be bad if you are smelling the exhaust. But i guess with direct injection you get a clean burn anyways that helps. Its not like running a 90's car with no cats haha.
That can't be good for your health. Even if you are not smelling it, breathing it in is not good for you. Why not go for a 200 or 300 cell cat instead? I doubt you lose much and your long term health will thank you@@gtmachine6134
Hey. Lots of conflicting info online about these plenums. Most people attributing any gains from the plenum to the tune or the headers that are usually also installed alongside these. Did you do the plenum and the tune only at first? Does the plenum really wake up the top end that a tune alone won’t do? Thanks for your insight
I did the headers first then the plenum/tb and then the tune. I noticed a bit of a difference with the headers. With the plenum i noticed it lost the mid range from about 4-6K rpm range, it was sluggish to pick up rpms. Once it got over 6k it opened up more and took off. Then I put the tune on it. I found the mid range came back and the the gains picked up uptop as well.
@@gtmachine6134 I wonder how much of this was a perceived improvement that just came from the tune itself. I’d imagine that you’d feel the TB alone improved top end because the mid range had taken a dip. In any case, I really appreciate your response. I think I’ll just go tune for now, followed by headers and retune if the itch returns. Ever did 100-200 or 60-130 times?
@@syedalishah6854 Never did times. But i think I lost the midrange since the engine wasn't about to handle that extra air volume without the tune. It could also have been the flap in the plenum was re-tuned to open at a different rpm to help as well. I did notice a gain in response down low and more up top. It just felt flat during the midrange without the tune. i would have had to do a lot of logging to see why that was. I just wanted to see what each part did by itself. Not just slap them all on at once.
I haven't had a dyno yet. I can feel the difference in power from stock. I probably spent about 4K on all the power adders. Thats the IPD plenum and TB Soul headers BMC Air filters and the Cobb Access Port.
