@@TheReturnOfStephan1 When I say that it is the same type of leather, it is a natural, ungrained, Nappa leather using European hides. Each car manufacturer has its own specification regarding leather thickness, softness, stretch, wear properties, natural markings such as bites/scars. So even if the raw hides are the same, the leather tanneries who supply the car manufacturers, process the hides to slightly different specifications. What people sometime confuse is the feeling of the leather, when it is the construction of the seat that is important, the thickness and density of the foam and lamination beneath the leather, which really determines seat comfort. Having said that, there are stiffer, less yielding leathers, with an embossed grain used on lower priced cars which have a less attractive touch/feel, and even within this category there are variances going from relative soft like the JLR grained leather, to the stiff and boardy BMW grained leather. The ripple effect, if I understand you correctly, is an older traditional style where the cut seat panel is oversized, but is gathered at the top and bottom to give a ruched effect. UK and US luxury cars used this style but it is largely out of fashion today. The one supplier to Bentley and Porsche was/is from Italy, namely Conceria Pasubio, one of the best automotive leather suppliers with most of the top manufacturers, high volume, and luxury, as customers. Bentley also use the Scottish supplier, Bridge of Weir, as do Jaguar, Range Rover, Mclaren, Rolls Royce and Aston Martin. This suppliers forte is in high quality specialist auto leathers over high volume lower priced variants, a fine company.. I hope that has been of some help.
Red pigmentation has selenium in it. As such, it’s much better to choose darker shades of red when regularly exposed to sunlight. Otherwise, your medium red will fade to pink. Porsche should darken their red shade.
Tja, was ist aus dem Autosattler-Handwerk geworden..... Ich habe Anfang bis Mitte der 80ger Jahre bei einem damals sehr bekannten Autoveredler in Leonberg als Autosattler gearbeitet. Als ich heute dieses Video sah, war ich froh, dass ich das nicht mehr mache. Respekt und Anerkennung für die Leute die da arbeiten, aber mir würde das kein Spaß mehr machen .
Also so übertrieben Messen, als ob das ein Kolben oder Ventil wäre. Das könnte sich auf die Steuerzeiten auswirken, wenn das Leder nicht gleichmäßig ist.
