@@papaarslan40 i know, but thats why a base seat leon costs 20k dls and a base taycan costs 60k dls. the same option, for example on the leon the auto dimming mirrors comes in a package that costs 300dls, on the taycan the same shit cost 3k dls. Porsche asks 60k dls for the base car. and other 50dls for optional extras. I can assure you that those extras come standar in a lot of new cars (like the security stuff: lane keep, adaptative cruise control, etc). That extras that porsche asks 50k dls, im sure that costs them less than 2k dls to fit them on a car. It is a well known fact that porsche is the griddiest car manufacturer respecting optionals in their car.
Agreed but you're paying handsomely for that dashboard, considering this loses to a $37k model 3 in performance, practicality, and range. Porsche styling is way better but Tesla makes too much sense
...but the Tesla’s work! The sat nav on cannonball run thought the car was in another state and couldn’t be fixed. It didn’t charge well either. I was amazed how dreadful it was for the brand and the money. £50000 more than a PM3 with full self drive! Come on it’s slower and doesn’t go as far. @Ross i do 0-60 constantly and range is an issue.I have an electric car and live in the city.200miles range is not ok for this much money.Tesla is a much better buy,and the new Plaid + will anihilate the Taycan Turbo S
I agree, even though I would rather have it in green. But I love that such a conservative manufacturer is daring to offer some more colourful and creative options. That's one of the things that made the great cars from the 50s til the 80s so great. They used to offer tons of vivid colours because the technology was simple, and that was the way to set them apart and make them attractive. I hope that trend comes back when technology makes cars equal again
The Taycan has some insanely good colors, I can't stress how much I love this one in particular. It's subtle and easy on the eyes, but still very unique. And yet somehow everyone is getting the same boring stormtrooper spec, or maybe all blacked out, if they're extra creative.
@@hamdaanahmed2006 He is talking about the sheer size of the vehicle. Obviously I agree with you, the car looks stunning. But it's undeniable that it handles way better than it appears capable of based on it's length and width. That's why I say it looks like a ship. Again, beautiful car but she's a porker. Edit: my idea of a typical sports car is less than 1300 kg. If you park the Taycan next to a 488, you'll see what I mean. It doesn't look like it can keep up with the Ferrari but somehow it can.
Vents behind front wheels are blocked if you option the electric charging ports. Without the option all vents are Real😊. The white brakes are upgraded Ceramic Coated PSCB. The base black ones you speak of or steel brakes. Glad to hear your comment about the 4S Mat, that’s the model I got.
I totally understand your point but I don’t think too many people driving quarter miles as fast as possible will buy an entry level porsche electric car
It was in bad conditions then you don't get this model taycan if you don't wana go fast. you buy it for the luxury and for it being electric if you wana go faster you buy the higher end models. its like buying the yaris you want it to be a good daily with decent features then get the base model but if you want the faster car with more options buy the gr.

But the base Taycan costs roughly the same as a Tesla Model S, and by all accounts, is a much better car. The interior of the Porsche is definitely better, with everything integrated in the Taycan as opposed to that oversized iPad stuck to the dash of the Tesla.
This is Porsche's FIRST take on a fun, playful, sports-car EV. Much like the 911, it's all uphill for buyers with refinements. We now know Porsche is making a full-size EV above the Cayenne. The entire industry is going to benefit with what Porsche and Audi are releasing to the market. I also think the 4S is the sweet spot, can option it out well to about $130K USD.
People are very surprised when they hear how short the charging times are for EV's. Its not like it's new tech either, its been around for a good amount of time now. I will say % is a bit of a misleading way to present this though, since the smaller the battery the larger the percent you'll be able to charge in a given time. For example, an EV with 320 miles of range gains 55% of charge after 15 minutes, and another 218 mile EV hits 80% in 22 minutes. The 320 mile range EV is actually charging faster in this scenario, with 177 miles in 15, compared to 174 in 22.

Not trying to take away from Porsche, just saying EV's have been this good for a while now And there are phones that exist that can charge to 100% in 20 minutes actually. The problem there is not delivering power to the battery, but rather battery wear, which is more apparent on small batteries.

It always seems to rain in the UK. I bet the cars are riddle with rust within 15 years. Arizona cars don't rust, the interiors crack and body panels can buckle . Another great video 👍👍
It is fake. If you have manual charge doors there is a vent there which is real. If you, like this car, spec it with electric charge doors the vents are blocked for some reason.

The 19" add loads of range. Unsure which wheel/tyres Bjorn used on his test but he got an additional 100 miles of range on them. Get big wheels lose big range.
Yes they are wider along with larger which increases drag with road surface, also if they aren't aero wheel covers larger wheels have increased drag due to wheel structure facing outwards.
It's just a slow car. The base Model S does it in 3.2 and this is doing it in 5.1-5.4. basically 2 seconds difference. The 4s definitely looks a lot more fun than this
Then get a V8? Whether it does 1.99 like the Plaid or 5.1 for the Base, it's the same visual experience. EV cars aren't for you if you like revving, rumble of an engine, and waking the entire street up.

I like its design very much, I’ve loved it since Porsche first started teasing its development/release, the colour is ok I sort of like it but I think it might be one of those things where you don’t like it as much a year or two later.
Eventually Porsche will have option of having a steering wheel which will be $700 extra and a part of the drivers pack if you want to actually drive the car.
@@mayormccheese761 Porsche were never cheap, and people who buy them don't appreciate the level of engineering. It's not just a price premium, it's the material choice, suspension tweaking, efficiency....
Also consider that a base model will not include things like heated seats, parking cameras, cruise control, and a variety of other things that should be included in the base price because Porsche loves to nickel and dime you into oblivion.
It’s like comparing a Ford Mustang with a BMW M3. Of course the Mustang is quicker and also cheaper, but that doesn’t mean it is better. Completely different cars. Also most of these options are basically just cosmetics, you really don’t need to spec them. Then there are things like the HUD that the Model S doesn’t even have. In the end it depends on what you need and what you want.
Can't really compare the interior of Tesla with Porsche in my opinion. It's nowhere near as good and out of question. But there are literally no equal in terms of functionality. Tesla Plaid+ will undoubtedly be the best performing car.
Lorenz Müller yes, but you're going to compare an $80 k M3 to a 40k Mustang? This Taycan is a stripped $80k car that doubles with options, typical Porsche. M3s depreciate much more than Mustangs too. Relative to their cost.

Of course you can add hundreds of options to the car, but that’s up to you. It’s not the fault of Porsche to give you more choice. Like I’ve already said, most of these options are just cosmetic changes which you really don’t need. I just tried it out, the Taycan 2S with air suspension, bigger battery, HUD, ACC, heated + vented + massage seats, heated steering wheel, 4 zone climate control, upgraded sound system, ambient lighting and better looking rims costs you $106k. If that’s not a well equipped vehicle I don’t know. And of course the quality of a Porsche is much better than the quality of a Tesla which is definitely worth a little bit of extra money. I don’t even want to mention the many options that my example is equipped with which you can’t get on a Tesla, like the ventilated seats or the HUD.
the Model S Plaids Range and technology, Model 3/Y´s Interior and the looks, performance and buildquality of the Taycan would make one hell of a dream car
3 years later and these cares are now worth just 35-40% of their original value, with higher end models suffering the most. It's been an absolute bloodbath. You can pick up a Taycan, from a Porsche dealer, for around £45k when it was valued at closer to £100k when new. They won't even stock the base model.
